The whole experience was excellent at the pre op meeting, the day of the operation and the post op meeting. I thought that the hospital's fees were expensive but Mr Slesser's fees very reasonable. Not sure that I needed to be there at7am for the op!

I cannot recommend Mr Slesser enough. My entire experience under his care was brilliant. My TV did not work properly in my room and the bed very uncomfortable. I hardly slept on the ward. The HDU nurses were amazing, especially Wes and Mel.

Mr Kavia is very professional and diligent in his diagnosis and line of treatment. I initially met him via NHS when I had my first episode of urine retention on October 2020. With my repeated episodes of urine retention over a course of next 10 months, I approached him in private hospital. He immediately checked my NHS records to review his notes for the treatment he had prescribed and suggested additional tests on priority to confirm the next course of action. Mr Kavia patiently explained me the line of treatment of sacral neuromodulation and I was immediately convinced seeing his confidence which entrusted my faith that I was in right hands. In Jan 2022, with the successful treatment/implantation of sacral neuromodulator, I was finally relieved from the constant fear of frequent episodes of urine retention and started living a normal life. I will without a doubt recommend Mr Kavia to everyone.

I recently had a septorhinoplasty with Dr Marais. I had never had an operation before and was extremely nervous, especially as it involved altering my appearance. Dr Marais throughly outlined the procedure and answered all my questions and concerns. I liked the fact that there was no pressure and how he has a really calming approach. On the day of op, Dr Marais and his team were lovely and made me feel at ease. The care I received was exceptional which really helped with my nerves. The recovery process was practically painless and I only took painkillers on the first day. I had bruising under my eyes, as expected and this took around 2 weeks to heal. I am now 2 months post op and I am extremely happy with the results. It takes some time to adjust to seeing a new profile and can mentally be quite challenging but you really have to trust the process. I am now able to breathe with no difficulties. The bump which I was always extremely insecure about, has been removed, giving me the side profile that I’ve always desired. I can’t thank Dr Marais enough for his work. I couldn’t recommend Mr Morais highly enough. Throughout the whole process he was friendly, not trying to push me into anything, very honest about what was achievable, made sure I was completely sure and answered any and all questions me and my mum had. I wanted my nose smaller but didn’t want to completely change everything about it or look different in the face. I was so happy with how my nose turned out, it didn’t change my face at all, I still looked like me and the nose reduced in size a lot. The surgery itself was short and the anaesthetist was really friendly and funny, he also put my cannula in whilst I was unconscious as I am afraid of needles. The only bad thing I would say about the process was the after effects of the anaesthetic, I was quite ill and had to stay in hospital for a few more hours than usual. Oh and the itching from the nose tape under the bandages! It was relatively painless, I wasn’t sore after the surgery and I only took paracetamol for the first 2 days. The only time it was sore was after all bandages came off. I’m around 8 weeks post op, still a little numb in the tip of the nose and a little sore when I wear my glasses for long periods (this is normal and was due to what I had done in the surgery.) I believe the price was really reasonable and I am so so so glad I had it done. It has boosted my confidence immensely and I am no longer trying to hide my side profile. Thank you so much Mr Morais!

My daughter had her tonsils and adenoids removed a month ago. Dr Marais and his team were brilliant and they did everything to make my three year old comfortable. The operation went well and we were discharged in the same day. The recovery was very fast and not as painful as I expected. She was on regular painkillers for a week and eating and drinking was fine. She didn’t lose any wait and she didn’t develop any complication. Since the operation, she’s been sleeping very well, no snoring or sleep apneas. She’s been also eating much better and her breathing has improved a lot. It’s been life changing for all family as we can all sleep now. I think it was the best decision we have ever made for our daughter. I would definitely do it again.

We will be eternally grateful that we were recommended to Mr Chilcott by a good friend of ours. As somebody who always dreamt of becoming a mother but has also always been incredibly anxious about child birth, Mr Chilcott’s calming and kind demeanour from the moment we had our first consultation was to thank for the start of taking that anxiety away. We never felt judged for pursuing the route of an elective c section and Mr Chilcott made us feel that he supported and respected our decision which gave me confidence in myself and him. We had a couple of consultations with Mr Chilcott before our planned c section date and both times he was impressively informative - always willing to repeat himself so we were absolutely clear on what to expect and the fact we were able to WhatsApp him if and when we had any concerns throughout the pregnancy was amazing. His prompt responses to such WhatsApps were reassuring and appreciated. The morning of the C Section felt very surreal and I was very anxious. I was first met by our amazing anaesthetist in our room at The Portland that worked alongside Mr Chilcott. He was also incredibly kind and reassuring - going above and beyond to read the room once we got to theatre with regards to my anxiety. He managed to reduce my anxiety so much by being so clearly communicative with me about absolutely everything that was happening at any given moment from start to finish. Mr Chilcott also met us before theatre in our room and his calmness shone through again which was particularly reassuring when I was not feeling calm. It reminded me that although this was absolutely huge for me having never had any surgery or anaesthesia before, this was something very routine for him that he was very well equipped to do which gave me full faith in him. Everyone involved in theatre was amazing, mastering their individual roles and contributions impeccably but pulling together so well as team to do so also, and in turn making both my husband and I feel very well informed and comfortable. The birth itself was the single best day of my life. The moment we first saw our beautiful daughter when Mr Chilcott held her up will forever be my favourite memory, I replay it every day in my head and I speak so positively of my birth story to whoever asks. I feel incredibly lucky to have a positive birth story to speak of. Everything that happened throughout the surgery was exactly as Mr Chilcott had explained it would be and I felt prepared. I felt so unbelievably safe and confident in Mr Chilcott’s hands throughout and appreciated his professionalism but at the same time valued the light heartedness of conversation throughout that put me at such ease and at points made me laugh once we knew our baby girl, Orla, had been delivered safely. Contrary to my fears I felt absolutely no pain at all and have come away with a very small, neat and tidy scar. I have had no complications at all and cannot believe how well I have recovered which I believe is down to Mr Chilcott’s excellence. I was still able to WhatsApp him post surgery and was glad to see him at my 6 week check where he was very happy with my recovery and wasted no time in using it as an opportunity to also do a smear test which I was due to have before pregnancy and obviously couldn’t until post pregnancy. I will be transferring all my gynaecological care over to Mr Chilcott now and hope we will be blessed enough to fall pregnant again in the future - I will without any doubt at all return to Mr Chilcott for our care again and again. Thank you so much, Mr Chilcott, and your team for helping our dream become a reality in safely delivering our beautiful daughter to us and looking after me so well throughout.
