He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine from Southampton University in 1984 and then passed his Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP) exam in 1989. In 2009, he was awarded Doctor of Medicine from Southampton University.
Between 1993 to 1997, he conducted research into mechanisms of allergic asthma and the use of novel immunomodulatory drugs in severe asthma at Royal Brompton National Heart and Lung Institute. He also conducted research at the Department of Allergy & Clinical Immunology at the Imperial College, London which resulted in having several papers published.
Dr Sihra has worked at several London teaching hospitals, including the Royal Brompton, St George’s, St Thomas’, Guy’s and King’s College Hospital and is the author or co-author of several published papers.
