Miss Laura Harrison is a leading adult and paediatric ENT surgeon based in Reading, who specialises in tinnitus, otology, ear infection, dizziness, glue ear and otosclerosis. She privately practises at The ENT Consultancy at The Forbury Clinic and her NHS base is the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
Miss Harrison is highly qualified, with an MB BS, FRCS(ORL-HNS) and MSc. She graduated from the University of Nottingham Medical School in 2009 and then went on to complete initial surgical training in general surgery, plastic surgery and intensive care medicine at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and Guy's and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust, London.
Following this, she was appointed to the Oxford/Thames Valley training programme for ENT and undertook a fellowship in Otology. She gained experience in mastoid surgery, middle ear ossicular reconstruction, stapedotomy and auditory implantation. Here, she won the National Royal Society of Medicine Temporal Bone Dissection competition. She also worked with the paediatric ENT team in Oxford where she gained experience in the treatment of paediatric ENT conditions.
Miss Harrison is also noted for her clinical research, and alongside being awarded a distinction for her MSc in Otology and Audiology, her work has been published in various peer-reviewed journals. Furthermore she is also involved in clinical academia, and is the educational lead for the ENT department at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
