I have seen Dr Imam few times in the NHS. He operated on me and I wanted to give him my greatest thanks for the lovely work and more importantly the amazing attitude he had. I had a previous surgery by another consultant before and it did not go well. I was referred to the proff for his expert opinion. i thought i will never move my elbow again but he made me at ease and showed me illustrations of what he is going to do. i had what looked like a huge surgery and he was reassuring and confident from the beginning. he made me feel at ease. he made me feel i am his only patient. I could not be happier and i could not be more grateful. THANK YOU!!

On first meeting Professor Imam, i was immediately put at ease. His aurora was amazing, kind, professional, humble, i felt at total ease. He was already advised of my case, being a little complex, his expert knowledge gave me immense confidence immediately. After explaining to me what needed to be done & also what he may need to do when going into the site if things are worse than the MRI had shown. Aftercare was excellent saw me twice before i went home & i was only a day case. i am having a second appointment at the Runnymede hospital this week. 100% excellent care from start to finish a wonderful gentleman, professor & surgeon, so pleased to have been given the opportunity to be in his care.

Mr Imam operated on my elbow which was completely dislocated and broken. One of the doctors told me he is the expert in managing these here and I was referred to his fracturec clinic. I saw him, He spent time explaining everything to me and showed me pictures and different options. He spoke to the radiology department and made them do Ct on the elbow on the same day. I had the surgery and immediately I could feel a difference. it has been 9 weeks since the surgery and I am delighted with everything. He is indeed an expert and I could not recommend him enough. Thanks Mr Imam, and thanks to everyone in St Peters and Ashford hospitals.

Mr Imam spent the time with me explaining the issues with my shoulders in detail, giving an honest opinion, empathetically. We have gone down the conservative route for now with steroid injections but I am aware that surgery may be necessary for the future. He is very passionate and knowledgable about shoulders. Two minutes down the line, you would feel fully at ease! I can not recommend him enough!

I had a complex elbow fracture after being hit by a car! There was a dislocation in the joint and everyone I have seen told me it is a complex fracture and the results will be bad :( I was referred to Mr Imam as I was told he is the expert in managing these injuries and he was indeed. He spent time in his NHS clinic telling me about my injuries and he reassured me. He even showed me pictures and showed detailed illustrations of what is needed. He was obviously the expert and demonstrated a lot of knowledge. I even asked if I can have it done privately with him and he told me no need as this can be done quickly in the NHS as it is an emergency!! I had the surgery before things went wrong and to my surprise, I am significantly better and seriously I can not praise him enough as well as the amazing NHS team working with him in Ashford and St Peter's!! Thanks a lot NHS and Thanks to Mr Imam and all staff! True NHS Heros! Can't praise you all enough.

I was treated by Mr Imam after intensive physiotherapy on a frozen shoulder had failed to help me. I chose Mr Imam because of his medical qualifications, extensive clinical experience and his corresponding PhD in the shoulder. I thought, “this guy really knows a lot about arms and shoulders” – this proved to be the case. During my initial consultation a diagnosis was delivered with the support of MRI scans, with reassuring calm confidence. A targeted home physio programme was recommended (rather than surgery) supported by a steroid injection; this was successful. I felt at ease throughout, and I was I am very pleased by the experience - I heartily recommend him.

I had a great experience for a very unfortunate injury! Mr Imam was very attentive and patiently explained the procedure pre-operation, and after-operation which was very reassuring. He was very caring and he made us feel we are his most important patient!! I don’t usually do reviews but I have asked Mr Imam if I can email anyone in the hospital to show my appreciation. The nurse gave me a card to do a review here. To cut it short, I’m very grateful that I was lucky to be referred to him. I have problems in my right shoulder for years and had multiple surgeries over the last decade. My first surgery was as a kid twenty something years in the royal orthopaedic hospital in north London. I had more than one surgery after that. For the last few years, I have been troubled by pain all the time and I’m a very active person. Then my doctor referred me to mr imam who has examined and advised me about the different routes for treatment. He examined me fully and listened fo all what I have said. He identified the problem and we agreed on surgery. Immediately after surgery I can sense the difference. I’m aware it won’t be fully back to normal but what I already have five weeks after surgery is more than enough to me compared to the misery I had in the last few months or even years. I have 100% trust in this man!!!! I don’t think I’ll see someone else! For my shoulder!!

I have always loved the nhs and knew how crucial it is for us. Clinicians like Dr/Mr Imam are the reasons we should always fight to maintain the NHS. He is an excellent clinician, a lovely person and a very keen surgeon. When I had my referral, I googled him and I was excited with the number of awards as well as the huge travelling experience he had. Mr Imam published hundreds of papers!! And even without knowing so, you can tell that after few minutes. I thought he will be an arrogant consultant who would not answer my questions; actually the opposite happened. Although, he had a very busy clinic, he listened to me fully and answered all my questions thoroughly. He even showed me a video with the proposed surgery to my shoulder. He told me about the expected time points after the procedure. Now that I am 4 weeks after my surgery, I sincerely thank him and his team including his registrar and his secretary and everyone involved. Actually prior to the surgery, I wanted to pay for it privately but he said he is listing me on the nhs and it won’t take long especially that clinically my surgery should be urgent. I have enjoyed my experience fully at all time points. THANK YOU ALL!

I do not normally do tick boxes/star credits etc. as they invariably fail to register important points and possibly misrepresent others! So saying the above does reflect sincerely on my experience with Mr Imam last month. I felt that I was in good, competent, caring hands. I never felt patronized; I always felt that I was being listened to; I felt too that there was a splendid team spirit in this team!! Everyone appeared to be busy, the unit was exceptionally clean; it was good to see people really washing their hands "by the book". I could not have had a better experience in his Clinic! Thanks to Mr Imam and his great team for the great care I had!! Amazing personality on all levels and an excellent surgeon. Can’t recommend enough. I went to see Mr Imam after him being recommended by wife. He operated on her and she was on cloud 9 after surgery. Our lives were back to normal. Then, three months ago, I stupidly broke my shoulder in more than one place and I went to see Mr Imam after my GP recommended him. It was a pleasant coincidence. He took me through all different options including non clinical consequences of all these options. As a physiotherapist myself, I could not ask for more. We opted for surgery and I was given a date. On the morning he operated on me and told me all what I can expect before and after surgery. It went smoothly and what everyone told me it is a complex surgery went really smooth. Immediately after the surgery, I felt the improvement. My shoulder is now connected to my body. Now, I am 100% back to where I was. Big Thank you to the whole team!!!

Mr Imam, a very sensible and sincere surgeon whom I have seen for a second opinion as recommended by GP. Two minutes in the consultation, I completely trusted him and felt he is fully aware of the problem. Mr Imam was lovely start to finish. I had been suffering with my shoulder for 2 years but as soon as I saw Mr Imam he immediately understood my problems and explained his plans for me. Surgery booked in - what a great team! I met support staff prior to the op who were the right side of firm. Concise in explaining, clearly very knowledgeable but applied with such sensitivity and great care. I was very impressed and happy I was in the right hands. All of that said, the nicest comment was from my lovely Porter, Richard, who really put me at ease when he explained Mr Imam was a "teddy bear" and I was in great hands. He was right! A highly recommended upper limb surgeon in every respect! I first met Mr Imam when he fixed my son's wrist a year ago then my wife's shoulder 6 months ago!!! my son who had very successful scaphoid surgery which enabled him to resume his active life and love of sports, competing at a high level. When I was referred to see Mr Imam for a shoulder injury sustained four weeks ago, he operated on my shoulder in the fracture list and I knew I was in safe hands. He was equally caring and professional, listened attentively and answered all questions patiently. It is now nine months since I had my shoulder replacement carried out by Mr Imam for a problem that made my life unbearable for three years. I have seen him for various check-ups on my shoulder during that time. I attended the hospital as arranged yesterday for my review. I was very pleased to hear those words “No Need For Me To See You Again Everything Is Fine”. I have thanked Mr Imam for the professional way he treated me, kind, considerate and attentive in our conversation. I can now get on and enjoy my life as normal. My shoulder has been painful for two years. I have seen Mr Imam in Ashford in a regular NHS clinic. He spent time showing me the problems I have and demonstrated all the findings on a video. He gave me a link to the exercises and told me about different options, benefits and problems of each and we've finally agreed on surgery. Mr Imam revived my faith in the NHS!! I believe we are very privileged to have surgeons like him. He would take the extra mile to make things happen! Although of everything happening nowadays, he still spends sometime prior to surgery in a bust trauma list telling me about all the possible risks and all options. He is fully aware of published papers and when I have googled him, I realised he is well-published in shoulder surgery and trauma!! You won't tell because he is very modest!! I had my shoulder replacement under the care of Mr Imam for a long standing shoulder problem. I had a fracture two and half years ago and it never felt right. Mr Imam spent time discussing different options with me and my partner. He has explained the procedure and has done a shoulder replacement which went very well. I was referred by my surgeon to Mr Imam because I was told he is the expert in managing complicated upper limb pathologies. I am a physician myself and I couldn’t fault the service I had at all timepoints. He was very informative and spent a lot of time with me -in a very busy NHS clinic- and showed me illustrations of my surgical procedure with a lot of details. We spoke about clinical and non clinical aspects of the surgery Everything he mentioned before surgery, happened after surgery with the same timescale. My recovery was even quicker and I’m back -after four weeks- to full activity. I would like to thank him, his registrar, the anaesthetist, the nurses in theatres, admission and recovery and everyone involved. I think teams like this is what make the NHS great!! Seeing Mr Imam and having surgery under his care has revived my faith in the nhs. The treatment I had in NNUH was impeccable!! Everything was well organised. His secretary was very helpful and thorough. He spent enough time with me before the surgery, the day of surgery and on two occasions after the surgery. I had the privilege of meeting Mr Imam exactly a year ago when I had the misfortune to crash off my mountain bike! I smashed my clavicle into 3 piece, one part extruding our of my back. I also dislocated my shoulder joint but somehow had managed to out it back in and, by all miracles, not trap a nerve or blood vessel. I was operated on by Mr Imam who performed what |I can only describe as a layman, as a small miracle! Not only did he mange to reconstruct the clavicle secure a plate into place he managed reconstructed the area around the damaged shoulder joint. In Mr Imam's words he did 2/3 operations in one!! I returned to see him in outpatients a few weeks later and his delight at his work was plain to see! Since then I have enjoyed some fantastic care and treatment, not only by Mr Imam but also Andrew my physiotherapist at the N and N outpatients. His encouragement and challenging programme of exercise paid dividends and within a couple of months I was able to get out on the golf course and swing a club again...albeit badly!! Over the past year I have gone from strength to strength and the treatment I have received has been second to none! I would like to thanks Mr Imam and Andrew for the great care and time they have taken over ensuring my full recovery. Than k you Guys! I wish you every success Mr Imam in your move to London. I injured my right shoulder helping a friend to put a window in a boat. The injury had left my right arm virtually useless. Ok, I could move it around, but due to the pain, I was unable to exert any meaningful amount of pressure in any direction. I was referred to Mr Imam after an x-ray and shoulder ultrasound scan has shown three ruptured tendons and a full thickness tear in a fourth. A condition the ultrasound technician had referred to as “massive damage”. Mr Imam explained the injury to me and decided to send me for an additional MRI scan. On my second consultation, Mr Imam explained the surgical procedure, and that he felt he could correct all the problems using keyhole surgery done under general anaesthetic. I must confess that I was dubious about having surgery, but Mr Imam reassured me that I could expect much-improved shoulder function. At the time of writing, it is four months since my shoulder surgery, and I’m well into the physiotherapy programme. I have regained most of the arm movement I had before my injury. I still have some way to go, but I feel very optimistic that much of my former function will return. I have seen Mr Imam twice since my procedure, and he seems very happy with my progress. The first time was after two weeks, and I could barely move my arm. The second time was after fourteen weeks and I can now easily move my arm in every direction as well as raise it above my head. It is now just a matter of building up strength through physiotherapy, and I have been given a time frame of one year from surgery to achieve maximum possible use. I have nothing but praise for Mr Imam, his professionalism and skill as a surgeon. He has improved the quality of my life immeasurably. I feel privileged that I was referred to him. I must also mention the team of healthcare professionals that took care of me at the day procedure unit. They made a daunting situation (for me) seem almost like a walk in the park. Mr. Imam is an excellent clinician. He is very knowledgeable, confident and he is really competent in his job. What make him unique is his compassionate, friendly and yet professional attitude. He listened relentlessly to my complains and he respected all my symptoms and genuinely tried to interpret the reasons behind those symptoms in a simple and easy yet thorough way. He gave me detailed explanation of the possible outcomes of each treatment given and additionally he requested the relevant imaging needed for my case. Mr.Imam is a total credit to the medical profession. he has a very good manner about him that put me at ease when we first meet for him to explain what was going to happen regards his impute (the up coming operation), he did not rush me to finish asking any questions and on the day of the surgery he came and asked me if I was still having a problem in my shoulder (he seemed to remember that small detail)and said he will sort it out when he done my rotator cuff. I could not fault him or the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital for the service and the after care I was given. A big thank you to all those concerned . keep up the good work .

I found Mr Mohamed Imam interested and engaging and went to great lengths to explain to me the cause, effect and proposed solution for my condition. He was friendly and was genuinely interested in my problem and gave me assurance as to his procedure's likely success. Post op: Again very engaging and friendly manner immediately put me at ease and assured me that my condition is on-track for a hopefully complete recovery. I originally paid for a chiropractor - 5 treatments, no improvement - £200. Told to refer to my GP. I did this and was referred to Global for X-ray. Was told I had arthritis, fair enough I was now 70. I insisted that I might have arthritis but the problem was not skeletal, but muscular, sinews, tendons or something - I am not a doctor. Sent for physio - several treatments was told that this was not working. Luckily at Community Hospital, Bowthorpe Road, Norwich, saw another Dr/Consultant, having been referred by the physio, and she asked what the problem was, I said there seemed no point in relating what had happened as no-one would listen. She said I am listening, thank God. I was then given an ultrasound which showed other problems and I was referred to Mr Iman. For which I will always be grateful. I explained to Mr Iman that I had been caring for my aged Mother (93) who hung onto my arm whenever we went anywhere, she tripped and I grabbed her to stop her falling and my shoulder/arm was painful and getting worse from then. I was given an ultrasound which showed problems, other than skeletal. Mr Imam said that he would operate and that I would be hearing from him. I did and attended a pre-op sessions and passed. I had the operation on 15-04-19 and have to say I was seen by the anaesthetist who was amazing, told me what to expect and advised on what to do after the op a human being not a robot.. Was also available on leaving the hospital for questions. Lovely person. I have now been seen by Mr Iman on 22 May and he and I are thrilled. He did not promise I would be back to how I was before the incident but promised I would be no worse. I am not and cannot thank him and his team enough for this. God bless him. When I had an ultrasound scan showing three tendons ruptures, I was told that they can’t repair it. Then I was referred to Mr Iman and he reassured me and now three months after surgery I can use my shoulder fully and couldn’t be happier thanks to the great team in Dpu, clinic and physio and of course Mr Iman. Me and my friend had surgeries under his team and we both couldn’t be happier. Thanks to the whole team in NN!!

I would definitely recommend Mr Imam. He has impeccable explanations for every symptom. I am a scientist myself and I was impressed with the amount of evidence he told me about. On checking, I did appreciate that he has produced a lot of publications in different shoulder problems himself. Initially Mr Imam advised non operative management based on evidence which helped for some time however, when I saw him again we have discussed different options. He has told me about pros and cons of each and we, sincerely, have reached a mutual agreement together. After my surgical reconstruction; I was surprised- What an amazing immediate result in reducing the pain and increasing mobility, my long time of misery is finally over. Now three weeks after the procedure I am well on track to make it back to the golf course! He was very efficient and supportive and made me feel privileged to know all through the was what I was going through and working with me for the right answer. He is very knowledgeable, sincere and cheerful; he always smiles and makes you at ease at all times. He told me every thinfg before surgery and showed me illustrations of what to be done and reassured me immediately after surgery. Simply, He is an angel!!

I simply can't praise Mr IMAM enough; he completely changed my life. I had a collar bone fracture in 2008 which healed in a funny way. Many surgeons warned me of having surgery because of increased complications. I saw Mr Imam, in 2019, and he reassured me and was very confident. He is very knowledgable and showed me papers he has published and added me to the waiting list. I can't praise him enough!! Now 6 weeks after surgery; I am on clouds. I can sleep for the first time in eleven years without pain. He is the best!!!!

Mr Imam operated on my shoulder after years of pain and instability. Prior to my surgery he told me the he will need to transfer a ligament and use an artificial ligament to improve the pain. He showed me pics and did an amazing explanation. I was fully involved in my treatment at all phases. He is a truest knoweldgable competent and a very skilled surgeon. I would add that I was a good patient and did my pre and post operation exercises diligently. Nothing but praise for Mr Imam and if anyone asks, I am pleased to be able to name him as my surgeon.

Mr Iman performed surgery on my right shoulder last week and I remember him very clearly explaining what the problems with my shoulder were, what he could do to correct it and how long recovery would take. I regained full movement after the operation (few days) and even more quickly than my GP and MR Iman had suggested At every stage he has ensured I completely understand what treatment I am having and why and that I'm comfortable with it. Should I ever experiencing any problems in future I would have no hesitation whatsoever in seeing Mr Iman and would definitely recommend his services.
