Professor Saiju Jacob is a highly experienced consultant neurologist and neuroimmunologist, currently serving as the clinical service lead for neurology at University Hospitals Birmingham, and practising privately at The Harborne Hospital

He has undergone extensive training across leading centres in London, Birmingham, and Oxford. His expertise in neuroimmunology was further enhanced during a specialised fellowship at the University of Oxford under the mentorship of Professor Angela Vincent, where his research focused on the pathophysiology of seronegative myasthenia gravis, particularly exploring the role of the complement pathway.

Professor Jacob is also an honorary professor at the Institute of Immunology and Immunotherapy at the University of Birmingham, where he actively participates in international clinical trials related to autoimmune neurological diseases such as myasthenia gravis, transverse myelitis, neuromyelitis optica (NMO), and autoimmune encephalitis.

His clinical work includes running dedicated weekly clinics for neuromuscular diseases and neuroimmunology, which attract patients from both regional and national levels. As a recognised leader in his field, Professor Jacob chairs the Myasthenia Gravis Special Interest Group at the Association of British Neurology's national meetings.

In addition to his clinical and research responsibilities, he is also the training programme director for neurology at the West Midlands Deanery, contributing to the education and development of future neurologists. He regularly reviews for international journals and has authored several significant publications in his areas of expertise.
