Professor Martin Filipec is a leading ophthalmologist with over 25 years of experience and a specialist interest in eye micro-surgery, corneal transplants, cataracts and laser surgery. His distinguished career includes fellowships at leading specialist eye clinics in Paris and Harvard Medical School, learning the latest surgical techniques from some of the world's foremost ophthalmologists. He later went on to establish the first private eye hospital in the Czech Republic, the Lexum Eye Clinic. Professor Filipec was also the first to perform corneal grafting in Afghanistan, and first professor of ophthalmology at Charles University in Prague. He now works alongside Dr CT Pillai at Advanced Vision Care, the UK's leading independent eye clinic, equipped with one of the most advanced theatres in the country.
