I felt very comfortable and able to talk through my issues. Dr Everitt was very professional and friendly. He did various tests and hopefully after the MRI we can get to the bottom of it. I managed to get an appointment with him within a very reasonable time frame. I also booked the MRI for the week after my appointment which was also relieving. Thank you

I found Dr. Everitt to be very empathetic. He listened to what I had to say and put me at ease. He also accessed previous reports and documents from other sources and explained them to me, which had not been done previously, and included them in his report. He allowed as much time as was required for all this and his final report was very thorough and comprehensive. Overall, I could not recommend Dr. Everitt more highly. I would not hesitate to return to him if necessary.

I found Dr Everitt to be thorough, considerate professional. He demonstrated a genuine interest in my case by asking all the relevant questions in providing him with a complete picture of the matter I consulted him about. He listens carefully and responds to questions with patience and honestly. I came away feeling that he had a good grasp of my situation and had provided sensible and practical advice. All in all a very satisfactory outcome. Thank you Dr Everitt.

I was apprehensive about seeing a Neurologist for my epilepsy as I was worried about test results and what these could mean. Dr Everitt was very patient and answered all my questions using terminology that I could understand, and immediately made me feel at ease.

Dr Everitt has been and continues to be incredible for our son. Our son developed epilepsy and we needed a specialist. We are so fortunate to be under his care. He is professional and his clinical decision making is clear and he communicates this with care and sincerity. We have had many questions and concerns and he has always been available to answer these. We are just so fortunate to have found him.

Dr Everitt was Professional ,understanding and supportive - I was able to seek clarification on comments made on my report, through careful understanding of my my needs we were able to reach a succesfull conclusion of my care from him. He made clear at the conclusion of his report that although I was discharged from his care he was willing to be contacted if required, as a patient this was very reassuring - thank you

Dr Everitt was nothing short of amazing. He saw me within a short time-span, somehow also managing to set up an MRI appointment for 30 minutes after my appointment with him finished. What’s more, less than 1.5 hours after the MRI, he followed up calling me with the results at 19:30 at night. Don’t think you’ll find a more reliable doctor out there. - Jordan

A caring empathetic Dr who pays attention to detail. I was unfortunate to have seizure and needed to see a neurologist. He showed me so much care and ordered all the relevant tests. If you need a consultant who listens and pays attention to the smallest detail, then you have come to the right place. I am ever so grateful.

I have been his patient for 10/11 years and I trust him with my life. He is kind, always looking for something new on the market for me. He I recommend whole heatedly I dont think there is anyone better or who I would rather see.. St. Mary's is lucky to have him as I am lucky to see him. He knows I dont do morning's and gets me his last appointment. Its not what you know sometimes but who and all the staff when they know Dr Everitt asks for something always bumps you up the queue. Nobody has a bad word to say about him. That would include me. Hope this helps you if you're searching. He has helped me no end. Elizabeth Fielding.

To whom it may concern Dr Alex Everitt Department of Neurology, St Mary’s Hospital, Praed St Until I met Dr Everitt I had endured epilepsy for 37 years and had had a series of medications and treatments. I have kept all the correspondence I have had with the NHS and the medical staff involved since 2014, when things became more difficult than ever before because my circumstances changed. The GP I then had referred me to a local neurologist. This was utterly useless since the neurologist did not, as promised by his secretary, contact me at all, despite prompting. My partner did some investigating, having discovered the Patients’ Charter and the 2014 Choice Framework. She found the name of Dr Alex Everitt and we made an appointment to see him. From the first I found him humane, intelligent, pensive and understanding. He genuinely wanted to find out the cause of my condition and the best ways to deal with it. I have a wad of correspondence from him, either accounts of consultations with himself, or reports of those meetings passed on to my GPs. He has never been anything other than utterly professional in every way, always giving as much time as he can. He is generous with his time, and as I know well, totally thorough. I could not wish for a better medical practitioner. Moreover he continuously reviews my medication so that it is as effective as it can be. Indeed, I have had no episodes at all since the October before last. This may not be particularly relevant since I would give the same view, regardless of the outcome of any treatment; nevertheless it is probably not a random success but based, I am sure, on Dr Everitt's careful thought about the variously effective medications I have had. In addition to my initial impressions, therefore, I would add that Dr Everitt's experience and practice has given him a masterly expertise in dealing with this patient, at least. Dr Everitt’s concern for his patients is perhaps best evidenced from an incident two years ago. I had had a couple of difficult episodes and sent him an e-mail, as he has always encouraged me to do. He replied within a couple of hours – from his holiday in the Balearics. He gave me thoughtful advice but obviously could do no more! Whenever I visit St Mary's I fill in one of the evaluation cards. I hope they are read. The above evaluation says in far more detail what I would like to explain every time. Anthony Holbourn

I have been a patient of Dr. Everitt for 10 years now and he has consistently proven to be a reliable, professional and caring doctor. I have a number of other long term health conditions aside from those I am treated for by Dr. Everitt. As a result I've much experience of having been treated by very many doctors in a number of hospitals in the south East and can confidently say that he's one of the most supportive, helpful and respectful ones that I've been under the care of. I'm afraid I therefore can't even think of any constructive criticism.

Dr Everitt has been my neurologist for 10 years now and you name it he has tried it. Personally I couldn't recommend him highly enough and have to others who suffer from Epilepsy. Kind, caring, and always remembers that I don't do mornings and gives me his last appointment at 12pm. For me he is the closest thing to God and if you are looking for a specialist then look no further I think 10 years with him says it all, he's fantastic I could sign this anonymously but I think it deserves to be signed, I would have to say he knows who has written this and trust me I'm not easily pleased and I have seen a lot of specialists. Nobody, but nobody tries harder to make my life better and I don't think he wouldn't do the same for you. Thanks for everything Dr Everitt you're a star. EF

A friend mentioned this website to me over the weekend and so I decided that I must write of my personal experience of Dr Everitt (Alex) who I see twice a year regarding treatment for my epilepsy. The name of the website intrigued me because "if you want great care" for any neurological condition then I would be very happy to give Dr Everitt my highest recommendation. I have been seeing Dr Everitt for over 10 years now and firmly believe that he has been instrumental in ensuring that my condition receives the best possible advice and treatment, using the most up to date drugs, to control my epilepsy. I have also always found him to be most personable and it would be no exaggeration to say that I look forward to meeting him at my Consultations

I have been seeing Dr Everitt at St Mary's for over 10 years. He treats me for epilepsy. I find him to be very caring and he is clearly focussed on making sure that the patient understands what treatment is being recommended and why. He is honest - but kind about it if it isn't good news. I can't recommend Dr Everitt highly enough. My sister accompanies me to most of my appointments and she feels the same about Dr Everitt.

We saw Dr Everitt privately for a second opinion about our daughter's epilepsy when after 18 months after diagnosis she was still not stable. From the outset he was defensive and abrasive and said he was "friends" with my daughter's previous physician, although we were in no way critical of her. We simply said we wanted to have a fresh look at her treatment. He continued with that demeanor and eventually said he would just "work through the NICE list" which wasn't particularly thoughtful. It ended with him sending a bill to our insurance company for 2x the cost of other consultations and recommended a drug change in a letter to our GP which lists as a common side effect irregular heartbeats, although we told him and her medical records including letters from a cardiologist which he had indicated that she had to be taken off another epilepsy medication as she developed significant irregular heartbeats. Please don't see this neurologist, particularly privately but not at all if you can make a different choice. The consultation with him lasted 30 minutes, during that time he made little or no positive contribution to my daughter's sense of well being as I am sure he won't to yours.
