I had a consolation with Dr Boon Lim having suffered with ectopic heartbeats for some time now. Dr Boon Lim was exceptionally knowledgable, friendly, and a great listener. He was incredibly generous with his time, and articulated in a very accessible fashion what I was experiencing, why, and what I could do to alleviate the symptoms. I cannot recommend Dr Boon Lim more highly! I have also found his online content to be very informative and helpful.

I have seen Dr Boon Lim a number of times since 2019 regarding my heart health, syncope and AF. He has always explained things in a clear manner and taken the time to listen. He has a holistic approach and has advised on how to make effective and achievable lifestyle changes. I have also found his book 'Keeping Your Heart Healthy' an easy and informative read. Dr Lim reassured my 21 year old son with his calm, patient and professional manner. He explained in detail the treatment plan and procedures that he put in place. He and his team made whole process smooth at an anxious time. After a successful procedure my son can resume his competitive sporting activities. We can’t thank him enough.

I saw Dr Boon Lim at the end of 2020 on the recommendation of another cardiologist, as I needed a pacemaker and my first cardiologist suggested that Dr Boon Lim was the absolute best in class. I can honestly say I felt looked after and listened to every step of the way during my treatment. I was also incredibly impressed at Dr Boon Lim’s holistic approach to my healthcare, which has resulted in me making some fundamental changes to my lifestyle and having further conversations with an endocrinologist. I would have no hesitation in recommending Dr Boon Lim for any cardiology issues.

I’m a 69 year old man. I have had Atrial Flutter for a few years and it has increasingly been affecting me, and how I felt with exercise. I have suffered with what was termed as anxiety and a fast heart rate for years. I have seen countless cardiologists before Dr Boon Lim but no one really got to the bottom of it. Dr Boon Lim quickly ascertained that I was likely suffering with a fast heart and anxiety because of blood pooling in my legs and the resulting activation of my nervous system. He explained everything very carefully to me and gave me specific advice to help mitigate the effects. Dr Boon Lim is a very caring and supportive Dr and since receiving his reassurance and putting into practice his advice, I have felt so much better. Dr Lim is extremely knowledgeable and uses very up to date testing methods, such as the zip patch 14 day heart monitor. This allowed Dr Lim to confirm that I did not have any other heart rhythm disturbance. I really can not recommend him highly enough and my experience has been life changing.

Wow! Doctor Lim, What an amazing Doctor and what an amazing human being. After my Cardiac arrest in November 2019, the prospect of getting an ICD Installed was very daunting for me. With other health issues. and a very Anxious person by nature, I am very weak facing these things, and get extremely stressed. Doctor Lim, after speaking to me very soon realised what sort of person I am and absolutely went out of his way , spending a great deal of time talking to me, not only about the Medical side of an ICD and how it all works, but so patiently and passionately with great empathy converted me into a confident, now knowledgeble patient who with great courage accepted and then got my ICD Installed. I am 65 years old and have never ever , met a Doctor who was not just a doctor with great experience and know how , but had the incredible skills to give me his precious time and expert advise . My wife who was listening to our conversation , is so so impressed that , she had tears in her eyes, as before Doctor Lim spoke to me , I was stressing her out, with my Anxieties, and Doctor Lim fixed that. Poor service. Wrote to ask if Dr Lim could provide a second opinion on three specific areas. Waited three days - no response. Called his private secretary. No response. Emailed his private secretary to find out whether Dr Lim would give said second opinion and received a reply email saying I could have a consultation, but no confirmation he could give the second opinion based on the criteria requested. Why pay £300 for a consultation to be potentially told in the first minute he can't (or won't) help. That's not good patient service.

Dr Phang Boon Lim is truly one of the greatest physicians of his time. The personal attention to detail he displays is an indication of the sincere care he gave to me. I was, at first, hesitant and unsure as to whether or not to proceed with the treatment he prescribed. He took a great deal of his very valuable time to persuade me that it was in my best interests to follow his advice. Dr Boon Lim is a gentle and respectful consultant. The first time I met Dr Boon Lim was as an out patient eight years ago. On that occasion and at every appointment since, he has taken time to listen to my concerns, ensure that I understood the problems that related to the condition of my heart, the likely journey of different medication and procedures ahead and the hoped for outcome. The way Dr Boon Lim works is the way his team works. There is focus, time given to patients as needed, in an atmosphere of calm and kindness.

For a number of years I have suffered with uncontrolled high blood pressure and debilitating digestive and auto immune / rheumatic issues. Over the years I have seen numerous doctors and as many procedures without any firm diagnosis or understanding of my illness. I eventually had to retire early giving so much of my life and a business which I worked so hard to establish. I had effectively given up hope of a diagnosis and subsequently any hope of being able to manage my symptoms or dare I say even getting better. However today I was fortunate enough to meet Dr Lim who for the first time in 30 years of suffering gave me hope. Not because he had a panacea but because he listened and not dismiss my suffering and turned it back to me as being neurotic because my issues are not easily understood. For the first time somebody spoke to me giving me a clear understanding of the frightening symptoms which are happening to my body. Dr Lim listened and appeared to be genuinely interested in helping me to understand what is happening to me as well as work with me to minimise the effects even if they are not curable at this time. Priceless!

After years of going from one doctor to another to try and get a diagnosis for my daughters symptoms we have at last achieved this thanks to Dr Boon Lin. He listened and he knew exactly what was going on in my daughters body. He hit the nail on the head with all her symptoms and clearly explained the causes of what was going on. A superb clinician who has not only given me an answer to ongoing symptoms which I have been experiencing for 18 months but a robust plan to improve my health & wellbeing. I have seen several specialists in various fields with no diagnosis. Dr Lim is not only highly experienced but is at the leading edge of his speciality. I received excellent care, a thorough and clear explanation. I was treated with the upmost respect and no question was left unanswered. I googled experts in London on Pots syndrome and saw Dr Boom Lim. I researched and decided to make an appointment as it was urgent. The NHS was a 6 month wait but I wanted more immediate expertise. The tests were conducted on the day of the appointment. Dr. Lim explained everything very carefully for my daughter and myself. It was very reassuring to have a diagnosis explained of the problem without major drama. Very impressed with all the staff and hospital. A great experience.

Dr Phang Boon Lim is an extremely experienced, respectful and very well qualified person. He provided me with advice regarding the symptom of my arrhythmia and reassurance that my arrhythmia is not life threatening. He used simple words and even drawings to make me understand what my situation is. My daughter and I still can't believe how lucky we are to meet such a skilled but also kind, caring and wonderful person. Having visited a lot of doctors in Greece, we can honestly say that we trust him 100% and in our opinion he is the best in the Cardiology field in Europe. If you are unfortunate enough to have a malfunctioning heart and need a Cardiologist you want to know you are being treated by a very well qualified, extremely experienced, kind and caring one. Dr Lim is all that and more. He is involved in research and teaching so has access to the latest information on treatments for a wide variety of conditions. He doesn’t give up searching for answers to treat complex conditions and not only provides the clinical care you need but is great at explaining what is going on which makes things a lot easier to deal with. My heart has been causing problems for quite a while and it is a huge relief to me having Dr Lim working hard on my behalf. I know I couldn’t get better care.

I have now had two consultations with Dr Boon Lin and my husband was present on both occasions.. Our shared opinion is as follows: We cannot praise him more highly. He patiently listened to my concerns; explained the answers in both medical and laymen’s terms and answered my follow-up questions in an understandable way. Importantly, my welfare was of more concern to him than the consultation time. I could say that I felt I was important. During the second consultation, he took the time to speak personally to a consultant at another hospital, to further my investigation. Today, totally out of the blue, he telephoned me to see how I was progressing. Given that six months had elapsed since my last consultation, It is not even something that would have happened in the private sector, let alone the NHS. In the telephone call today, he was both patient and compassionate and even provided what I would interpret as counselling. I have seen Dr Lim both as a private patient and was then lucky enough to see him under the NHS. He has provided a diagnosis, treatment plan, and also and as importantly has the people skills that I feel are integral to treatment : reassurance, recognition that even tho some conditions are not life threatening or limiting they can still effect quality of life, and one is able to ask questions. Having seen him previously at the end of a long and crowded clinic at Hammersmith, I reflected on how lucky we are to have our NHS and to attract such skilled and compassionate medics from all corners of the world.

I have been under Dr Boon Lim since 2012. I have undergone surgery for an AF condition. I felt totally confident in his diagnosis and the surgery that followed. My condition has been followed up and managed by Dr Boon Lim and his team. I have been filled with confidence after my recent consultation which included both practical suggestions and medication to further manage my condition. I am submitting this review based upon a recent visit with my daughter to Dr. Lim's consultancy room in Harley Street. We had traveled to London from Bristol in difficult circumstances (torrential rain and late coaches/tube delays) and finally arrived 35 mins late for our appointment.We were feeling very anxious as we thought we might have a missed an extremely important opportunity to finally seek answers regarding my daughters long standing condition which had been effecting her for many years. Previous GP appointments in our locality had proving to be mainly fruitless and had not reoncognised or addressed underlying issues that had been causing increasing concern and frustration. Our anxieties were immediately put to rest by a very caring and understanding reception from the staff. Our appointment was unaffected and soon we were shown to Dr. Lim's consultation room. During the next 35 mins or so we were giving a highly professional and reassuring diagnosis form a highly qualified knowledgeable doctor who explained everything in a way that gave full confidence and understanding of the condition and the measures that could be taken to begin treatment and lifestyle changes. As a parent I felt totally reassured and relaxed in the knowledge that finally we were getting answers to my daughters many concerns. I want to thank Dr. Lim for his patience and understanding and especially his high specialist knowledge and yet simplistic way of providing explanations and answers.My daughter is feeling far more positive thanks to his level of expertise and professionalism. I would have no hesitation in recommending or seeing him again in the future.

I had been waiting a life time with no real answers and I had unfortunately seen doctors that didn't have the knowledge or care, until I saw Dr Boon Lim and got listened to, understood and got the answers to everything I had been waiting for. Dr. Boon Lim came highly recommended to me by his colleague at the Hammersmith Hospital. I was subsequently referred to him for treatment of heart arrhythmia. His qualifications and position at The Hammersmith gave me every confidence and I knew I wanted to be in his care. He explained the diagnosis thoroughly and came up with a treatment plan and lifestyle changes that would be beneficial to my severe symptoms. I have seen several consultants since my heart bypass in May, but none has filled me with such hope with his positive manner and great explations.Also, he was keen to hear how I had been feeling and when I explained my symptoms, came to a diagnosis, which I wholeheartedly agree with. He was able to do that because he actually listened to me, rather than dismiss my symptoms as simply to be expected after a major operation, which has previously happened. The appointment was to discuss ,if a pacemaker would be needed to counteract atrial fibrillation. I received a clear and detailed explanation of the condition and it's effect. It was given in a comforting and relaxed manner, which was reassuring and fully understood. The decision was that the condition did not presently require a pacemaker and a clear explanation of what to be wary of for the future and what action to take should these changes occur.

My daughter was finally diagnosed with PoTS after 2 years of investigations and disbelieving doctors, after a tilt test at Hammersmith hospital. Unfortunately it still took another 6 months to be referred to Dr Boon Lim, but he took the time to explain the condition and suggest a way forward to help improve her symptoms. My husband and I came out of the appointment feeling a lot more positive, and hopefully my daughter will feel the same if her condition starts to improve. I have had persistent Atrial Fibrillation for many years, despite several cardioversions and two ablation procedures. It just would not go away. Doctor Boon Lim arranged for me to have a surgical ablation at Hammersmith Hospital and, almost a year on, my heart remains in sinus rhythm. Not only that, but he rejected the calls by other doctors after my surgery to fit a pacemaker, arguing that they had to wait and see if the operation worked. I am truly grateful. He is a fine doctor.

I have been a patient of Dr Boon Lim at Hammersmith Hospital where he has treated me for persistent Atrial Fibrillation. Despite many cardioversions and two ablations, the condition stubbornly refused to go away. Dr Boon Lim decided to offer me a surgical ablation and, 11 months later, I am still free of symptoms. Since 1985, I had a cardiology problem with my heart palpitation. I have had seen so many cardiology`s doctors. None of them managed to identify the problem. In 2011 my GP referred me to Dr. Lim. In the beginning I thought he would be like the previous doctors, but very soon I realised I was wrong. He was the only doctors who really listen to me and my heart problem. He fully investigated the issue of the palpitation. I find him is an exception, delegate and caring doctor. Yesterday, 25/10/2017, I saw him again, and got the same service as 2011. I first saw him at West Middlesex Hospital and he recommended me for the Imperial Avatar programme at Hammersmith for Atrial Fibrillation. He explained the ablation procedure in great detail and gave me the confidence I needed to proceed. I am most grateful to him for persuading me to have the ablation for 7 months later I have not had an episode of AF.

Wow! In the today's world when the most of the doctors are pushing drugs on us Dr Lim highly impressed me. He took his time to diagnose me with Vasovagal Syncope, he was efficient and the most importantly he was positive and optimistic from the minute I met him. I am going to try everything he suggested before I even think about taking a pill. His approach is very modern, fresh and caring. I felt listened and well looked after. He took his time to explain everything clearly to me. Dr Lim has great manners, he is super smart and down to earth. He made me feel comfortable and healthy! I highly recommend him. Thank you Dr Lim! I also would like to thank his lovely secretary Debbie for being very helpful and kind.

After being ill for four months and seeing several different doctors/specialists I was (luckily!)recently referred to Dr Lim who has diagnosed me with POTS. I had a brilliant appointment with him in which he took the time to really explain my illness to me, answer any questions I had, and made me feel positive that I am now on the right track to getting healthy. POTS is a rare and not very well know or understood illness, I really wish there were more Doctors with the same knowledge and understanding of it as Dr Lim! I wish I had seen him sooner, and would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone who suspects they have symptoms similar to POTS.

Super-efficient staff. Listened to my problems in detail and gave good advice with explained reasons, including after care advice. I finished in half an hour and left five minutes after my appointment time. NHS at it's best!

I saw Dr Boon Lim for the first time at the Hammersmith Hospital on 16 August 2017 to discuss vasovagal syncope. The appointment was after 18 months of tests carried out by specialists at UCL and Imperial College to determine the cause of fainting episodes caused by swallowing. Dr Lim was excellent. He knew exactly what the problem was and how it should be addressed. He communicated excellently and enthusiastically and I came away feeling not only reassured but also with a programme of action that makes total sense. I am extremely grateful that I was referred to Dr Lim by a cardiologist ( Dr Petraco Da Cunha) at St Charles Community Clinic 6.

Dr Boon Lim has taken me through a difficult journey of atrial fibrillation, and explained the ablation procedure carefully and thoroughly! He has an excellent bedside manner and I felt entirely comfortable throughout the consultation experience, to having the ablation procedure, which I recovered rapidly from. No more AF 6 months after the ablation! I cant thank you enough Dr Lim, and wish I had come to you sooner.

Dr Phang Boon Lim gave me great confidence in his diagnosis of my condition, without any dithering. He explained the procedure of having a pacemaker, and put me at ease that it would be very straight forward, reassuring me that everything is going to be fine. He is the type of specialist who makes one feel that one is in good hands. I have 100% trust in this doctor. I am very grateful that he managed to fit me in at short notice. He has a very pleasant, down to earth approach, making one feel relaxed.

Dr Lim has a very professional, warm and compassionate approach when discussing with me my condition, the options available and the plan going forward. I felt comfortable and confident that he listened and understood what I was feeling. He explained everything very clearly and I felt that I was in good and expert hands.
