Mr Basu is the one of the nicest consultants I have come across. He is very empathic and understanding. He has a very calm nature even whilst delivering results. Good and bad. He will reassure you and you know you are in safe hands to keep you going through a breast cancer journey. I will 110% recommend Mr Basu to anyone that has any breast related problems. From surgery through to making sure you understand what is happening next, step by step so you can mentally prepare yourself with what to expect. I am very lucky to have such a good/caring consultant that works from his heart on my door step. Thank you Mr Basu!

From my first consultation with Dr Basu I felt at ease with the procedure I was about to have. He talked me through every step of the way. He was very honest about the procedure and how I would look afterwards. He was very patient and considerate and listened to me as I was very nervous of having an operation. I never felt rushed. I emailed and contacted Elizabeth Nelson (Dr Basu lovely assistant) she answered all my questions immediately. she is very friendly and nothing to much trouble. My operation went better than I could have expected, very little pain and down time after wards. I was so pleased with the overall look. Dr Basu was on hand after the operation if I had any concerns. I would full recommend Dr Basu and his team. 5 star treatment.

I just want to thank yourself & your team from the bottom of my heart. Thank you to the team at Birmingham Women’s Breast unit; Dr Walker, Marylin & all the staff, where it was the start of this journey. Mr Basu, I first met yourself when you had to break the news of me being diagnosed with breast cancer, my heart sank and slowly my eyes filled with tears, you were patient and so kind in your mannerism. You took the time to make sure I fully understood the diagnosis and I’m so grateful. The whole process leading up to surgery was swift & smooth. Elizabeth made me feel at ease every time I spoke to her & even when I broke down in tears she assured me I was in the best hands. Mr Basu, you made time during your busy day to go through the therapeutic mammoplasty with me and not once did you make me feel uncomfortable with my countless questions and fears. I asked you on the day of surgery if you were able to remove the extra breast tissue as it really was last minute, I was so pleasantly surprised you did during the surgery. I was so anxious on the day of surgery but when I met Dr Balla the anaesthetist, he was so lovely and kind. Honestly at that moment, I truly knew I was with the best team. It got even better when I met Dr Selina Bains who performed amazing surgery to the right breast. The whole surgery went so smoothly and I am eternally thankful to yourself, Mr Basu, you truly have gifted hands and make anyone going through this journey feel very at ease. Moving forward feeling positive with my treatment plan with the wonderful Dr Henderson. You have a wonderful team! THANK YOU & stay blessed always

Everyone should experience both the care and service I Have received. From the onset he explained the steps and showed care, empathy and professionalism at all times. I genuinely do not believe anything could have been done better to support and reassure me. His team at The Breastcare clinic was first class and in particular to his secretaries and Dr Walker and now Dr Henderson. I couldn’t speak highly enough of all and Mr Basu such a kind, caring and highly skilled surgeon. I will be forever in his gratitude.

I have been a patient of Dr Basu since being diagnosed with Breast Cancer a few months ago. Despite the curse of my diagnosis I couldn’t have asked for a better Dr and standard of care. He and his team are super-efficient, have gone out of their way to get fast effective treatment for me and he has super-human levels of patience. During every consultation he has been ever patient, carefully listened to all my questions and concerns then taken the time to explain everything to me and provided constant reassurance. He has been accessible at all times even over weekends and the support has been broad. He looks after you as if you are family and despite having a 90 minute journey to see him at times as we wanted the fastest appointment we couldn’t ask for anything more. Our family see him as an angel not just a doctor for what he has done for us and would recommend him in less than a blink of a eye.

I first met Mr Basu in January 2019 when I discovered a lump under my arm. I attended the Spire hospital at Little Aston and I was able to get an appointment within 5 days. Mr Basu performed a thorough check and the conclusion was there was nothing to be concerned about. In May 2019 I discovered a lump under one of my breasts. Once again I was able to get to see Mr Basu within days. This time Mr Basu suggested an Ultra Sound scan and a biopsy which were done that very same day. Mr Basu stayed in communication, reassuring me throughout, until the results which again proved to be of no concern. In July of 2019 I discovered a further lump under one of my breasts. Again I was able to get to see Mr Basu very quickly and once again he suggested another Ultra Sound scan and biopsy. Naturally the days after the appointment were particularly stressful whilst awaiting the results. Mr Basu stayed in communication again to reassure me. The results proved to be of no concern. I am now due to visit Mt Basu again in October for a routine check. I would not hesitate in recommending Dr Basu for many reasons; First and foremost his empathy is authentic. He genuinely cares which is apparent in the way he communicates offering reassurance when he knows the patient is under psychological stress awaiting results. At one appointment my eight year old daughter was present. Mr Basu could see my distress and opted to rearrange the appointment days later when I could be on my own. Dr Basu explains the medical jargon is layman's terms helping with my understanding. His reassurance, clarity and empathy make a stressful time that bit easier. Kind regards Natalie Parkes

I first met Naren Basu in 2016 at the Queen Elizabeth Women's Hospital. I had been diagnosed with breast cancer. He is an exceptionally skilled man at putting people at their ease and explaining everything with great patience and candour. He is a consummate professional and really knows his stuff, especially relating to breast cancer. He is very clever, witty, and a super surgeon. He carried out a reduction to both my breasts, removing the tumours at the same time. I was fortunate indeed to have my surgery via the NHS, it would have been very expensive as a private patient but worth every penny. I felt like a million dollars after my operation. I think he is a fabulous man and so skilled on so many levels and outstanding in human kindness.

I contacted Dr Basu on behalf of my mother, who is receiving treatment for breast cancer. She was confused about reconstruction options, and wanted more information on using your own tissue, as this is not offered at the hospital at which she is being treated, and the pros and cons of immediate vs. delayed reconstruction. I sent Dr Basu a message via his website at 11 am on a Friday and he personally called me back two hours later and offered my mother an appointment the following Monday or Tuesday evening. I accompanied my mother to the appointment and we were both impressed at Dr Basu's caring manner and willingness to answer all our questions very clearly. The information that he gave us helped my mother to decide on the course of action most suited to her, and she is now feeling very positive about her upcoming surgery.

After finding a lump in my breast my doctor referred me to Good hope hospital breast clinic. I’m 34 and as I suppose with anyone that finds a lump it was a really worrying time, the hospital got in touch two days later and said it would be a 3 or 4 week wait due to staff shortage. I couldn’t wait this long as was driving myself crazy with worry also was due to go on holiday in a week so was going to cancel this. My husband booked me a appointment at little Aston hospital where i was told it was a one stop breast package we could pay for where I would have an examination and an ultrasound and get the results there and then. I was seen as examined by doctor Basu straight away he made me feel at ease and calmed me down telling me he thought I had a Fibroadenoma, i had never heard of this so he explained to me what this was and sent me for an ultrasound. The radiologist who did the ultrasound said it looked like I had a Fibroadenoma. The radiologist and nurse in the ultrasound department were also so lovely and made me feel at ease, I got upset and the nurse was really sympathetic and handed me a leaflet so I could read more information about it. I went back to see doctor Basu who explained again it looks like that’s what I might have but would need a biopsy to confirm that’s what it was. As I was due to go away we made the decision to still go on holiday and by the time I got back my NHS appointment would be through which it was the day after I got back. I’ve had my biopsy and just awaiting my results. I can’t tell you how thankful I am to have been seen by Dr Basu for his professionalism and kindness if it wasn’t for him I wouldn't have had a bit of piece of mind and gone on my holiday making memories with my little boy, although still not confirmed until the biopsy results he made me feel like a bit of a weight had been lifted. Fingers crossed all ok just awaiting biopsy results.

Nine days before I was due to go on an extended holiday I discovered problems in both breasts. I was lucky enough to get an appointment 3 days before travel. Mr Basu even called me on the day of the appointment to ask me to come in earlier to ensure they had time to undergo all of the tests that evening. Anyone who has had these problems will know how overwhelming it is but Mr Basu took his time to speak to me and explained all of the procedures/tests that would be carried out that evening and possible outcomes. I did have a small procedure and again everything was explained fully and felt quite safe in his hands. The follow up appointments were just as thorough and Mr Basu made sure I understood all that we discussed. If I ever found myself in this position again Mr Basu would be my first port of call.

I would like to share my positive experience with Dr Basu and the One-Stop breast clinic service. I had recently discovered a Breast lump while being abroad, being a GP myself I knew the process that I have to go through and having to wait for 2 weeks in order to assess my lump, as I my time was very limited I was looking for a quick and a professional service، I contacted Dr Basu who kindly managed to fit me in within few days. Switching roles from being a GP to a patient had made me slightly anxious, but meeting Dr Basu had put me at ease, despite the worrying Breast lump issue I felt very comfortable and relaxed. Dr Basu was professional and understanding and re-assuring. Furthermore the whole process was very smooth and quick, it is a one-stop clinic, hence the consultation and investigation ( ultrasound in my case) was done at the same time. Finally for self-funding patients, there are lovely receptionists that will give you a breakdown pack of all the pricing hence it’s all very transparent. I highly recommend this services for anyone who has concerns about a suspicious Breast lump. Thank you

In September 2018, I had noticed that the shape of my left breast was changing. As I have had breast implants for many years, I booked a flight to Cyprus, to have them replaced with a reputable and recommended surgeon. I flew out, met with the surgeon and went into surgery as planned. On coming around from the surgery, I was informed that the implant had been removed, however they had discovered a tumour and removed a significant piece. Naturally I was shocked to begin with, however, I decided that I would be positive and not let it be all consuming. I returned home, told my family the news and with them, started to look for an oncologist. After reading various biographies and taking into account expertise and experience, I contacted Mr Basu. I met with Mr Basu and went through the information I had from Cyprus, as well as showing him the tumour which was in a block (I’m not sure how I got this through customs!) Within 2 weeks, I’d had scans, blood tests and my operation scheduled. I was to have the remainder of the tumour removed, as well as some lymph nodes. The operation was long as it consisted of removing the tumour, some nodes, reconstruction on my left breast and removal of the implant form the right breast. I’m usually quite energetic, however, following the surgery I found the recovery slow. I was frustrated that I couldn’t just get up and about without feeling light-headed or tired. Cancer isn’t a part of my family history, so having breast cancer came as a shock. I tried to bury my head and continue as I normally would, but my body wasn’t letting me plough on. I was thinking of the next appointment and the possible outcomes; would the nodes show anything? Will I need chemotherapy? The following week I went for a check-up and then back the following week to discuss the results and how I was feeling. The good news was that all of the tumour had been removed, the not so good news, 2/5 nodes showed cancerous cells. This meant another operation to remove more cells and we decided that, at the same time, the right breast reconstruction would be carried out. Mr Basu also reminded me that I’d had had 2 major operations within 4 weeks, which for somebody with a heart condition is a lot to endure. The surgery went to plan with 16 more nodes being removed and thankfully all of them were clear of cancer but what next? Mr Basu carefully explained my options; I could enter a clinical trial, or I could have the tumour genetically tested which would help to decide on the course of treatment. We have gone for the second option and I am now awaiting the results from the oncotype test. As I’ve mentioned, this was and still is a shock to me, as I’m sure it is to anyone diagnosed with cancer. Mr Basu has gone above and beyond with the support provided to me and I cannot thank him and his team enough.

My decision to have breast reduction was a relatively easy one. I had been planning this for the last 19 years since my twins were born. Feeling rather low and dealing with the constant backaches, shoulder digs, the shape, size and low esteem and confidence, I made the decision to find and contact a surgeon who specialised in the procedure of Breast Reduction. Word of mouth is a good place to start, but I contacted my GP who gave me a shortlist of Surgeons to consider. I went away and googled the names. As I searched, there were lots of questions in my head. Level of care, what if I’m not happy with the result? Risks? Complications? Infections? Bleeding? Scars? Loss of nipple sensation? The list was endless. After a lot of research, I came across Dr Naren Basu, who specialised in Breast Reduction and breast related problems. I booked an appointment with Dr Basu. He took the time to explain everything to me, explaining how the procedure is carried out, how long it would take, potential risks, complications, pain relief. He asked what my expectations were and what I wanted to achieve. He also explained how the procedure is done, moving the nipple to a new position, opting for the anchor technique by removing the excess tissue and reshaping the breasts to a more ‘youthful’ position which would suit my body frame. Dr Basu asked me to take a few days to consider. He didn’t pressurize me. I felt very comfortable to be able to talk to someone who knew what I was feeling. It didn’t take me long to decide. I booked my next consultation with Dr Basu. I was asked to go and have my pre-op bloods done and have a mammogram as the previous one was nearly 2 years ago. The nurse went through my medical history Dr Basu listens to his patients and is happy to answer any questions and is easily approachable. This is a ‘must’ if you are going to put your trust in your Doctor. On the day of the Surgery, I checked into the Priory. The nurses came in to my room and give me compression stockings to wear and got me ready for my Surgery. I met the anaesthetist who introduced himself, then Dr Basu came in and marked me up for the Op and took pre-op photos. I was so excited. I walked down to the theatre where I was met by the Team. I was reassured all the time. Surgery was about 4 hours. When I woke, I was in the recovery room. I remember the nurse constantly monitoring me. The anaesthetist came to check on me and so did Dr Basu. He said the surgery went well. I was feeling drowsy and woozy from the painkillers and was all bandaged up with the dressings. I was taken back to my room about an hour later, Where I was so grateful for a cup of tea. I just lay propped up in my bed thankful that it was all done. Now it was time for recovery. I was all bandaged up, feeling very swollen, tender, lumpy but it was to be expected. The nurses looked after me so well and were prompt when I required any pain killers. I think Dr Basu is a perfectionist. He came to see me again and check on my progress. I spent the night at the hospital as this is recommended when you have had a general anaesthetic. It is also advisable to have someone to care for you for the following 48 hours once home. As I was not mobile for a while after I had the op, I had these funny electric compression blood pressure balloon things on my legs, which constantly tightened and released to keep my blood flowing. Understandable. The day after the surgery, I managed to get up, go to the bathroom, have a little wash and get changed. I even managed to don a little make up as it was a confidence boost. Before I left the hospital (a little over 24 hours) I was given medication and contact no’s and medical advice. I had a soft cushion which I used on the way home in the car to use as padding between the seatbelt and myself. Week one - Back home it was all about taking the pain killers (as and when required), trying to find a comfortable position to rest/sleep, keeping hydrated and eating small regular meals. There is no real pressure to get up and about. The first week is about dealing with the woozy after effects of the general anaesthetic, getting your head around the op and the unbearable pain of your bandaged chest. Another issue to deal with is constipation. This is urrgggghh. Nightmare. Best to get some sort of laxatives. Week two – went back to see Dr Basu in the clinic where he removed some bandaging. A lot of sticky surgical tape and visible bruising, swelling with meshed gauze over the areola where it has been repositioned, down each boob and under the curve of each boob. A lot of sticky surgical tape which takes forever to remove, but its best to keep all these areas dry as it helps with the healing process. Sleeping on your back is advisable for the first few weeks propped up with pillows, on sides and back as its very difficult to move. Wedging yourself in a good sleeping position finally allowed me to get some well deserved sleep. Wearing a good post surgery non wired bra is a must. Wear as soon as surgery is over. Start off with a sports bra which is tight and fitted, even a soft cup one will do which is fitted and supportive. Front fastening are ideal as its easier to remove and wont irritate the stitches. Its been 4 weeks now since my surgery in October 2018. I am so happy with the results so far. Of course, I am still experiencing the pain, Hardly any back pain. I feel so confident. The remaining bandages have been removed. The scars are so neat. All in all, I know that my breast reduction surgery was the best decision I have taken. I weighed up all the pros and cons, I can’t believe I’ve gone from a J cup to a DD cup. In proportion to my body, my boobs look fantastic. Obviously, there is still a lot of swelling but this will go down over the next 6-12 months I presume. Anyone contemplating this surgery, you will not regret it. Yes, you will be left with scars but they will a part of the ‘new’ You. The process may be scary but I don’t regret it for one second. Words cannot express how I feel. The experience has been life changing and I cannot recommend Dr Basu enough. He is caring, understanding and works magic. I cannot thank him and his team enough for everything they have done for me.

I am currently six weeks post op having undergone reduction mammoplasty with lift. Last year I had treatment for breast cancer, lumpectomy followed by chemo and radiotherapy. As time progressed I felt uncomfortable with the way I looked, the shape the size and my confidence. An appointment was made with Dr Basu and it was decided I wait for the results of my first mammogram then we would go from there. My mind was made up even before I left the hospital as he made me feel very much at ease. He explained the procedure clearly, was specific and very honest especially with the potential risks as in my case, radiotherapy. I returned to work after two weeks as my recovery was better than expected and so far I have been fortunate not to experience any of the 'risks' The care I received was outstanding from beginning to end Dr Basu and everyone involved are truly professional in all that they do. Last week I had the dressings removed and have to say the end result has exceeded expectations. For me this is life changing, I feel transformed! My breasts are perfect! The scars are hardly noticeable and I am thrilled with the whole experience. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr Basu with no hesitance, he is most caring, understanding and honest. Thank you so so much Dr Basu

The first Saturday in January this year I found a lump in my left breast. I was referred by my GP to the Breast Clinic at George Eliot Hospital for initial tests which, bizarrely, was the day after my youngest sister had her last radiotherapy session in her treatment for breast cancer. I was subsequently diagnosed with triple negative cancer which was the same as my sisters. Being told you have breast cancer is scary. You find a lump and the diagnosis as to whether you have cancer is 50 : 50. Despite knowing that my sister had come through treatment well, and looked amazing in the process, there was no getting away from the fact that there are victims ... was I going to be one of them? I met Mr Basu and my Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist four days after my diagnosis and found that he was the total opposite of what I imagined a surgeon would be. He was warm and showed a remarkable compassion for what is predominately a female problem. He explained the different types of breast cancer, what triple negative cancer was and the most effective treatment for it which, in my case, was chemotherapy, a mastectomy and radiotherapy. With my paternal aunt having mastectomies at 37 and 50, my sister having been diagnosed at 43 and myself being 51 at diagnosis he felt it was worth referring me to the Genetics Service since the result of a gene test could influence my surgery. My sister and I had our test and I turned out to have the PALB2 gene alteration. Upon receiving this result I had a meeting with Mr Basu who listened to my feelings about the result/risk reducing surgery before giving his opinion. He then spent time explaining what types of reconstruction were available, the pros and cons of each and what he felt would suit me best. I had bilateral mastectomies, opted for reconstruction with implants and had a sentinel node biopsy at the end of June. Although my recovery is ongoing surgery was fine and certainly nowhere near as uncomfortable as I thought it would be. We had a bit of a scare when the node biopsy came back with 3 of the 4 nodes taken showing signs of disease so a CT scan was arranged. Fortunately there was no spread but an axillary clearance was needed which was done the end of July and I’m healing well. There are no words to express my gratitude to Mr Basu. He is an incredibly gifted surgeon who is approachable, respects and, most importantly, listens to his patient. He takes time to explain things clearly and doesn’t mind answering any questions long after you have left him. Receiving a cancer diagnosis is immense but I consider myself incredibly lucky. I found the lump early, came through chemotherapy with no problems, found out I had a gene alteration and had the luxury of making an informed choice regarding risk reducing surgery. I have had bilateral mastectomies and an axillary clearance and, although I have radiotherapy to come, I doubt I would’ve been able to remain so positive had it not been for having confidence that my surgeon would do his best for me. Mr Basu and his team are exceptional ... they are incredibly supportive and have made the last 7 months relatively easy for both myself and my husband. Thank you so very much Mr Basu ... you are an absolute hero and I’m truly blessed to be in your care!

Overall, I had the most exceptional experience being cared for by Mr Basu and his team. After being diagnosed with Cowden Syndrome, part of this condition means an increased risk of developing breast cancer. I was referred to the breast care team to monitor the many breast lumps I had and to explore my options. Mr Basu is empathetic and person centred in his approach. He took the time to explain things to me clearly and concisely. From our first meeting Mr Basu and I decided that a preventative mastectomy was on the cards. However, whilst I was at university we left it for a couple of years and used biopsies and imaging as a means of monitoring. When it came to the mastectomy, the process was the best it could've possibility been. Mr Basu worked around me ensuring I could deal with everything and stay at university. Mr Basu and fellow surgeon Mr Warner put forward an approach to my operation that met my needs completely. Throughout the process, he also ensured that my emotional wellbeing was seen to. I can't thank Mr Basu and his team enough for everything they have done for me.

I was referred to Queen Elizabeth hospital this year as I had a fibroadenoma which had grown very big up to 11cm long over the past 3 years. As I was very young when I first found out I had the lump, I tried to put off removing it as I had never had surgery in my life. I was at university so did not really think about getting it removed as a priority. I began to feel very insecure about my body and as my breasts did not fit into a bra how they normally should, I decided that it was time to get an excision. I was very nervous going in to the hospital as I did not know what to expect and something as small as a biopsy was nerve wrecking to me. But the team of nurses there were amazing and reassured me that they were there and for me to hold onto them if I needed to. After I had my first ever biopsy done I did not feel a thing! I went back to the hospital to sort out the details for the operation which was very scary to me but Mr Basu again reassured me and I felt confident in trusting him in removing the lump most effectively. On the day of the procedure I just tried to be confident and take everything as it came. The consultants, surgeons and nurses kept making sure I was okay every 10 minutes and briefed me about what to do and what will happen and my parents about everything and once again reassured me. Going into theatre I felt a little nervous but the team there kept talking to me which was great and before I knew it I was waking up in the recovery room. There was a nice lady next to me looking after me as soon as I woke before I went back to the ward. It then took me quite a few hours to recover. I felt a little sore after the anaesthetics began to ware off but the nurses gave me lots of painkillers. They constantly kept checking on me aswell as the consultants after the surgery which was nice of them. It only took me around a week or so to feel alot more active after my surgery. It has now been 4 weeks since I had my surgery and having looked at my scar it is not visible due to my breast covering it! I am completely happy with the result of it and how the process was all along. The best advice I would give to people after this is if you feel a lump getting bigger try to get it removed before it gets too big and complex how mine was! Also, take everything as it comes because it wasn't scary and the painkillers dont make you feel like you are in that much pain! Mr Basu was honestly the best and I couldn't have seen a better doctor than him so thank you!!

I was referred to Mr Naren Basu at the breast clinic of the Queen Elizabeth hospital by my GP following breast and back pain. Mr Basu was professional and empathetic on all appointments as we discussed a breast reduction for my 30jj breast size. Initially i was slightly concerned about how I would look physically as mr Basu informed me it was a functional operation rather than cosmetic and ran through all the risks (quite scary)- however the risks and physical appearance were in my mind worth it for how much pain I was in & uncomfortable all of the time. I was informed the procedure would be done in a couple of hours and I should be home the same day. On the day of the operation (April 2016) I was very, very nervous. Mr Basu came to see me to see if I had any questions, concerns and to fill out the consent forms and to mark me up ready for the operation. I was very nervous. My Basu made no promises on the outcome and again went over the risks. Following my operation, while I was in recovery Mr Basu came to see me to tell me about the operation, how much he had removed etc but I wasn't really with it following the anastetic. Mr Basu again came to see me a few hours later as I was being sick and to talk about the operation. I felt so ill following the anastetic Mr Basu advised me to stay over night ( I couldn't have gone home). Mr Basu came to see me again early next morning to check me over and remove my drains - this was the first glimpse I got and prepared myself for how I would look - even battered and bruised the results were amazing - I was so so so pleased!! I was still feeling poorly so Mr Basu advised me to rest that day and again came to see me later that day as was concerned as to why I was being sick. Mr Basu really exceptional aftercare, over and above what you would expect. I went home that evening, by my choice as Mr Basu offered another night stay. He also made an appointment available for me with him at the breast clinic the following morning if I still felt ill or had any concerns. I had 2/3 follow up appointments following my breast reduction. On each appointment Mr Basu was fantastic - he made me no promises at all but honestly delivered on every area! Cosmetically I truly look amazing, the scars are so thin, neat & fabulous and will soon fade and health wise I don't have breast pain, back pain, headaches or suffer with sciatica anymore - I'm a new person! Emotionally I feel more confident and can wear clothes I've never been able to wear and can take part in sports. Honestly changed my life I'm so happy. I would recommend Mr Basu to anyone.........I'm so so pleased and believe I had the best care. Thank you so very much - you are a star! My breast size now is 34dd

I was referred from my GP to Mr Basu at the Queen Elizabeth hospital for a bilateral breast reduction. Every consultation I have had with Mr. Basu he has always shown empathy. He is an extremely kind and friendly person, which makes you feel comfortable when you have an appoint, net at the hospital, as this can be quite daunting. On the day of my operation all the staff on East block including Mr Basu were very welcoming and friendly, this made me feel very relaxed before my procedure. After my operation Mr Basu came to visit me the next day and explained to me what they had done during the procedure and how he and his staff agreed on my new size, and it being the best size for me. I did not have any problems post op and I am extremely happy with the results. My back pain has now disappeared, I feel confident in myself and I can also enjoy sports. My scars are very neat and will disappear in time. I had no infection after my operation. I went from a J cup to a D cup. I am now in proportion to my body size. Its the best thing that has happened to me and I would like to thank everyone that was involved with my journey. I would also like to thank cros city CCG for funding my operation. I hope that bilateral breast reduction is funded more often for more patients in my situation because it has honestly change my life. Once again Thank you so much Mr Basu.

At first it was quite daunting attending appointments but after our initial meeting, I found Mr Basu to be professional and empathetic. He doesn't soft soap you and tells you the truth which is what you want. Before, during and after surgery Mr Basu made me feel like I was getting the best care. I would certainly recommend him.

Recently I had to have surgery under Mr. Basu following the discovery of DCIS in one of my breasts. Mr. Basu's communication was excellent. He was re-assuring and thorough in the explanations of the two procedures he offered. I was well informed at each consultation and was well able to make a decision on which procedure to undergo. Mr. Basu gave me an extra appointment to make sure that I was fully comfortable with my decision and fully understood the surgery I had chosen. My breast surgery was first class. He took time out to visit me on the ward afterwards to ensure all was well with me both physically and emotionally. I cannot praise Mr Basu too highly and would have no hesitation to recommend him to those who need breast surgery. Because of the great care I received from Mr. Basu I cannot make any suggestions to improve his care. AK Birmingham

Mr Basu treated me at BMI Priory hospital in September this year. His knowledge and thorough explanations before the surgery made me feel completely at ease and confident. The surgery was exacted with minimal discomfort and very little bruising afterwards, allowing me a speedy recovery. Following my breast cancer surgery I am very happy firstly with the success of the surgery, but also with the cosmetic results. Follow up consultations have shown him to be caring and attentive, and I would put my complete trust in Mr Basu.
