Slipping rib Syndrome Mr. Panagiotopoulos always explained the issue and exactly what he intended to do to rectify the condition. The procedure was explained as being a very minor operation and that is exactly what it was with a very short recovery time. I didn’t use the painkillers prescribed as the effects of the surgery were so minimal.

I initially found Nick through his website offering the ability to perform Robotic surgeries. From the moment we contacted him he reassured us about the entire process and procedure. We opted for a robotic method as this meant the invasiveness of the procedure was greatly reduced over the option offered by the NHS. Nick pushed to get the operation booked in as early as he could, knowing that we wanted to get it completed quickly. On the day of the operation and throughout the entire process, he kept checking in on me, ensuring I was OK and well looked after. The operation was successful and he completely removed my Thymus gland in full. This meant my symptoms for myasthenia have been greatly reduced. Nick is fantastic and passionate about what he does, and more than that empathetic to the needs of his patients, ensuring they are given the best treatment possible. I would have no hesitation in recommending Nick to my family and friends and thank him for improving my quality of life.

Dr Nik was fabulous from start to finish. I was made to feel at ease and he was always positive and excited by the prospect of my operation which made me trust him and his abilities. The robot he used was I believable, which of course speaks to his skills. The size of the three incisions are tiny compared to what I would have had without this robot and the level of equipment and skills of Dr Nik are outstanding. I’m over the moon with my prognosis and the scars I’m left with. I can’t recommend Dr Nik enough.

Nik is a very special surgeon :-) He is undoubtedly at the top of his game in thoracic surgery and has a great track record, which of course is essential... but beyond that, he genuinely cares about his patients. From the first contact, Nik has been approachable and accessible - he has been available on text since the first call and mostly responds within minutes, which is remarkable given his busy schedule. He is always on top of what is happening with you - visiting once or twice every day I was in hospital and also talking to the nursing / support teams. He is extremely thorough and clear in his responses to your concerns, providing his view and backing it up with facts and reasoning. You always feel involved in your care. He also actively searches for solutions to issues and symptoms - and connects you quickly to the right people to support you. Above it all, he has a great warmth and humanity about him. As an example, he took the time to speak to my husband face-to-face in the lobby after my surgery, and spoke to my husband at length post-hospitalisation when he sent a text. Sometimes, these are the extra touches that really make the difference to you as a human being. Thank you Nik!

An outstanding surgeon who elegantly achieves the balance between superb clinical care and the knowledge that in the end, I am a person, not a "case". Nick has performed extensive chest surgery for me, and never once did I have any doubts about my choice in him as my surgeon. He's one of the best!
