From the outset, Mr Radley has been like a breath of fresh air, following years of indecision with my NHS IBD team. Listening carefully to my symptoms, promptly obtaining copies of NHS diagnosis results, and ensuring a multi disciplinary recommendation before proceeding with surgery. The standard of care and professionalism exhibited by Simon and his team throughout the process has been exemplary, including the aftercare. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone considering gastro surgery support.

I was referred to Mr Simon Radley by Mr Alan Docherty. Mr Radley analysed my condition, and offered me the best solution to my diverticulitis, and even though I was quite concerned with the operation that was needed, Mr Radley assured me that the Operation although drastic, the outcome would be better for my future health that trying the other option which was medication. Mr Radley always made himself available if I had any queries. He and his team made all the arrangements for my hospital stay and he even made arrangements for me to see a Stoma nurse, not that I was going to need a stoma fitted, Mr Radley wanted to prepare me just in case I did after my operation, but even if I did warrant one, he stated and reassured me that it would only be temporary. Mr Radley is a very reassuring Doctor. During my stay in Hospital (I was in for 5 days) Mr Radley came and saw me at least twice a day once in the mornings and once in the afternoons to check up on me. Mr Radley even called my wife in person after my operation which we believe is nice personal touch. On my last day in Hospital I was having difficulties and wasn’t feeling well leading the hospital staff not to want to let me go home, but Mr Radley came and saw me himself and made an assessment of my condition and allowed me to go home. Mr Radley has a good bed side manner and cares about his patients needs not just physically but mentally. After my Operation with Mr Radley he had me come and see him regularly to check up on my condition state and my operation scars. I would like to say thank you to Mr Radley as I appreciated his attention to detail when it came to my patient care.

I previously left a review (see June 2018) but 5 years on I wanted to reiterate what I said. There are times even now when I am literally moved to tears with relief and gratitude for the life he gave me back. I have read the other reviews about him and see he is still changing lives. There are many people in the medical profession who truly do make a difference to the people they help but in my experience Mr Radley is exceptional. His compassion and understanding is matched only by his knowledge, skill, patience and determination to do the best he possibly can. My life was changed by him 5 years ago and although neither of us knew how long my extensive repair would last I am thrilled to say that things are still perfect (well as perfect as they could ever have been under the circumstances) but I am living a full, happy and more importantly healthy life, thanks to his amazing ability and willingness to give me a chance (even though it seemed only slim at the beginning). If you unfortunately need of the kind of help he can offer do not hesitate, if he can't do it no one can in my opinion. If you ever read this Mr Radley I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart, I still raise a glass to you from time to time and I always will.

I initially saw Mr Radley in late 2019 when he recommended surgery. Covid and private insurance issues intervened and I eventually had my surgery in 2022. Mr Radley took the time to explain the surgery and the likelihood of improvement in my symptoms after the surgery. Mr Radley has been so kind throughout and the surgery has exceeded my expectations in terms of how much my symptoms have improved. I would definitely recommend Mr Radley.

I find mr Simon Radley to be a trustworthy, true, honest and professional gentleman, who treated me like a lady with care, compassion and dignity from start to finish. He took time to listen to my questions and answer them, I never felt uncomfortable in his presence ever. I would highly recommend Simon Radley without hesitation. An excellent experience. Following an accident, I received an emergency colostomy on the NHS and had been informed that due to a length of the bowel dying back during the operation I was unable to have a reversal. Some months later I developed a large incisional hernia and on investigation decided to consult Mr. Radley. He was extremely helpful and due to his experience he questioned the decision not to reverse. After extensive investigations and tests he was happy to carry out the reversal. I went into the Priory on Monday and left on the Friday. The whole experience was excellent.

Mr Simon Radley was recommended to me and I went to see him at the Priory for a consultation in December 2018. I was born with a epigastric hernia but this was symptomless until later in life. When it became painful I realised that I had to seek advice as it was interferring with my life ie I couldnt do my gardening which was important to me and neither could I put on my shoes without pain. By nature I am not courageous about medical matters but was immediately reassured when I met Mr Radley. He booked me in for day stay surgery in the new year and this went very smoothly and I made a speedy, uneventful recovery. His skill and kindness will long be remembered and I recommend him highly.

Mr Radley performed laparoscopic surgery to repair my bilateral inguinal hernias in February 2019. From the first few moments of my initial consultation with Mr Radley I had complete confidence in him. He is rigorously professional and reassuringly confident, but unfailingly humane and empathetic, and completely lacking in hubris. That he is also supremely skilled and experienced is evident from my excellent, uncomplicated recovery. I recommend him unhesitatingly and unequivocally.

Suffered an inquinal hernia with other health issues. Appointment with Mr Radley within 36 hours and hernia repaired within 10 days. Very friendly and warm but authoritative consultation, leaving me completely satisfied I was in safe hands. Day surgery completed efficiently with personal contact from Mr Radley on admission, immediately before surgery and a post surgery visit before discharge. His personality does nothing but instill pure 100% confidence in his ability and general care. The whole experience has left me eternally grateful.

In my opinion choosing a surgeon is about confidence - does this person inspire confidence? Do they make me feel safe, do I trust them? Simon Radley is the personification of confidence, he made me feel 100% safe in his hands without the slightest hint of arrogance. At every consultation he explained what was wrong, what my options were, his opinion and the most likely outcome. His team are an extension of him, polite, friendly and helpful. If your problem falls into his area of expertise don't hesitate to seek his assistantance.

In 1985 at aged 21 I agreed to have experimental surgery to avoid a permanent illeostomy. The results were only partially succesful. As a result I needed corrective surgery 20 years later after years of difficulties. At my lowest ebb physically and emotionally I met Simon Radley. It is no exaggeration to say he changed my life completely. He agreed to do a further 3 surgeries over 18 months. Not a simple or quick fix but he was prepared to try and assured me whatever the result I could not be worse off than I was. He is quiet, calm, professional and compassionate with skills second to none. Explaining everything with confidence and clarity it was as important to him as it was to me that he tried to put me back together again. I was incredibly lucky to have found him and eternally grateful for what he was prepared to do for me. A man in a million and I still raise a glass to him now and again several years later as I am fitter and healthier than I ever dared hope. Thank you Mr Radley you deserve a medal.

Joint effort between neurosurgery for treatment of a complex dermal sinus. Operation didn't go to plan and recovery was longer than expected. Mr Radley was left to pick up the pieces, however he did so very well and is a fanatic surgeon with Great people skills and real empathy

A wise, considered opinion. I saw Mr Radley having been referred by another surgeon who had let me down. Mr Radley made a verbal commitment to 'look after me' which I really needed to hear at that stage. Although he felt I would be better treated by another surgical colleague he ensured that this happened promptly (the next working day) and I was very satisfied with the way he managed me. I would thoroughly recommend this doctor.
