Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a condition where there is a buildup of fat in the liver. Although some fat in the liver is normal, MASLD is when the fat becomes more than 10% of the liver’s weight and it stops being able to function properly due to stiffness, which can have devastating consequences.
