High definition liposuction and liposculpture are body contouring procedures. The ideal candidate should be physically fit and preferably in a healthy state without being overweight, because liposculpture is not a method to lose weight but to contour.

"I'm an athlete, and going to the gym is not just a habit but my way of life. However, I still cannot get that defined, athletic body that I want”

Liposuction refers to the extraction of fat, and liposculpture transfers this extracted fat to another body region to mould it or give volume.

The HD or high definition technique takes liposuction to a new level. It is simply defined as a form of liposculpture that removes excess fat between the abdominal muscles, creating clefts that resemble those seen in a ‘six-pack’ or ‘washboard’ stomach. With more definition, the abdomen may appear stronger, firmer and more muscular.

Traditional liposuction of the abdominal area eliminates fatty accumulations, but does not give the same level of detail to the definition of the abdomen. Abdominoplasty or lipectomy removes excess fat and skin and tightens the muscles of the abdominal wall, but is also less effective than abdominal definition in sculpturing the abdominal sculpture.

High tech medicine

Like all medical procedures, new knowledge, evolution and application of new technology give rise to new techniques, or the refining of existing techniques to meet new needs or improve results. High definition liposculpture is one such technique.

"I'm not overweight, I exercise regularly and I have a balanced diet, but my abdomen is not flat". Is high definition lipo for me?

The ideal candidate must be physically fit, and preferably in a healthy state, without being overweight, because liposculpture is not a method to lose weight, but to contour.

The best candidate is a patient who exercises regularly and simply feels they want to achieve a more ‘athletic’ look.

The best way to evaluate whether you could be a candidate for the procedure is to schedule a consultation and define the expectations and goals of the procedure.

Some side effects of the procedure

Patients who undergo this procedure can resume their normal activities within 1 to 3 weeks. The complete results of the abdominal definition are visible from the first month but become more visible after 3 to 6 months.

Like any surgical procedure, it involves risks, but they are far outweighed by the benefits. Precautionary rules and regulations are specified to minimise all risk.

Lipo HD is a surgical procedure and should always be performed by a registered medical professional.
