It is normal for the area of the elbows and knees to have a rough and wrinkly appearance, and some people may wish to perform rejuvenation treatments such as carboxytherapy, in order to combat the roughness and looseness of the skin of these areas.
Rejuvenation of elbows and knees
Elbows and knees are the parts of the body that suffer the most friction from contact with clothing and due to the continuous movement of the joints and the lack of hydration, these areas are also prone to becoming dry, rough and develop loose skin.
Types of Rejuvenation: treatments for elbows and knees
One of the techniques available to rejuvenate the areas around the elbows and knees is the use of amino acids, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and vitamins. With this treatment, the tissues become more nourished and new collagen is formed, giving luminosity to these areas and improving its texture.
The treatment consists of stimulating the skin through intradermal injections of the aforementioned substances. It is recommended that the treatment is performed in 1-3 sessions every 15-21 days.
What is Carboxytherapy?
Carboxytherapy is a technique that involves injecting medicinal CO2 into subcutaneous tissues of the skin in order to improve collagen production, elasticity of the skin and provide better oxygenation of the different layers of the skin.
Carboxytherapy can help bring the shine and hydration back to the knees and elbows, in addition to improving the rough texture and reducing the wrinkles in these areas. This rejuvenation technique is also effective in combating cellulite and localised fat. The treatment is carried out once a week, with the recommendation being 6 to 8 sessions.
What is PRX-T33?
Another technique for elbow and knee rejuvenation is PRX-T33. This is an innovative non-invasive technique using a peel that combines trichloroacetic acid and hydrogen peroxide that performs a non-ablative, rapidly penetrating stimulation of the dermis without exfoliation.
This technique is recommended, mainly, to combat facial and body skin flaccidity. This new concept of needleless bio-stimulation visibly improves the overall appearance of the skin without damaging it. The treatment consists in applying the product by means of a manual massage or a spatula. It is advisable to have 3-5 sessions, once a week.
