Non surgical nose job
What is a non-surgical nose job?
A non-surgical nose job, also known as nose contouring, nose reshaping or non-surgical rhinoplasty, is a procedure that is used to reshape the nose without the need for surgery or minimally-invasive rhinoplasty. It does not require a hospital stay.
Why is it performed?
Nose contouring is performed to correct irregularities of the nasal bridge or nasal tip, depending what the person needs.
This procedure does not correct all nose types, since the nasal bone itself is not altered, which makes it unsuitable for a very large nose or a nose with a prominent bridge. There are other alternatives for these specific cases, such as rhinoplasty for example. This involves nose surgery to correct the function of the nasal appendix and to modify the bone or cartilage structure to achieve a new shape that improves facial harmony.
What does it involve?
Nose contouring consists of administering microinjections of different fillers.
If the nose is shaped by injecting hyaluronic acid into specific points, the result will last nine months, after which time the treatment will need to be repeated since this substance is reabsorbable by the body. If a more permanent result is desired, then metacrill microinjections will be used.
How to prepare for it
Nose contouring is a non-surgical procedure, so only a local anaesthetic is used, which means that there are fewer complications than with rhinoplasty.
However, there are some potential complications, such as hypersensitivity or allergic reactions, infection, facial asymmetry, or an aesthetically unsatisfactory result. In the latter case, the injected hyaluronic acid can be removed using a hyaluronidase enzyme solution.
Post-procedure care
These guidelines should be followed after a nose contouring procedure:
Rest, as recommended by the specialist, usually for around 48 hours Follow the medical prescriptions Do not engage in any activity that could damage the nose: for example, sports, driving, etc. Have someone on hand to help during the first few hours Inform the specialist if you experience any pain or discomfort Avoid wearing glasses
