Dr Wedad Abdelrahman is a fully qualified UK-trained consultant dermatologist, registered with the General Medical Council, with a special interest in paediatric and medical dermatology.

After graduating from Queen's University of Belfast with distinction, she completed her four-year speciality training programme in the Northern Ireland deanery. Before completing training, Dr Abdelrahman embarked on a prestigious fellowship on the therapeutic use of laser, working alongside plastic surgeons at one of the UK leading centres for burns and plastic Surgery in Swansea. In 2018 Dr Abdelrahman went on to complete a sought-after fellowship in medical dermatology at the world-renowned centre- St John's Institute (Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust), looking after medically complex patients with inflammatory and immunobullous skin diseases. Dr Abdelrahman has published and presented extensively, both at a national and international level. She has a keen interest in medical education and holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Education affiliated with Queen's University of Belfast. She is extensively involved in teaching of undergraduates from King's College London as well as postgraduates on the MSc programme in clinical dermatology.

Professor Noyce’s contributions to the field of neurology, in particular to our understanding of Parkinson’s disease and neurodegenerative diseases, their risk factors and early detection, have earned him international acclaim. His extensive research is published in peer reviewed journals, and he regularly shares his expertise at key national and international conferences. Professor Noyce has further clinical and research interests in brain health and in genetic contributions to the risk of neurodegenerative diseases. In recent years, he has worked extensively on understanding the risks posed by recreational nitrous oxide use (laughing gas) and has amassed extensive experience managing young patients who have come to harm. 

Professor Noyce remains active in research which works to advance diagnosis and outcomes for patients with neurodegenerative disease in his role as Lead of the Preventative Neurology Unit at Queen Mary University of London, the Centre for Preventative Detection and Diagnosis and the Wolfson Institute of Population Health. He is also a principal investigator in PREDICT-PD, an innovative study project examining how Parkinson’s can be detected before movement problems develop.

Professor Patrick Kennedy is a leading London-based consultant physician and hepatologist, whose work in viral liver disease is known internationally.
 
Professor Kennedy trained at University College Dublin. Upon completion of his initial medical training, he undertook post-graduate training in London and was subsequently appointed as a senior lecturer at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2009.

Professor Kennedy  has a special interest in the management of liver disease in young people, working closely with premiership football clubs and managing liver disease in professional sports people and elite athletes from the UK and abroad.
 
He has produced novel work redefining disease phase in chronic hepatitis B (CHB). The main focus of his curent research work is around broadening treatment candidacy and the development of individualised treatment strategies for viral liver disease. Additionally, Professor Kennedy is an expert advisor for the WHO and is part of the HBV clinical guideline development group. He is also a member of the European Association for the study of the liver (EASL) HBV clinical practice guidelines and has served as a member for NICE on the viral hepatitis clinical guideline committee.
 
Furthermore, Professor Kennedy provides expert opinion for the United Kingdom Advisory Panel (UKAP) on blood-borne viruses and is the current chair of the British Viral Hepatitis Group and former Lead for the British Association for the Study of the Liver (BASL) HBV special interest group. He works closely with industry and provides expert opinion on drug development programmes.
 
He is the principal Investigator for a number of investigator-led and commercial phase 1, 2 and 3, clinical trials of novel therapies in viral liver disease. At present, he leads studies on the development of novel therapies in HBV and hepatitis delta virus (HDV). In addition, he is passionate about patient education and ensuring patients play a central role in their own management. Professor Kennedy has developed HBV&Me, a management app, and a current area of his research is expanding the utility of patient management tools to improve care.

Mr Biral Patel is a highly respected Consultant Urological and Robotic Surgeon based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Mr Patel then spent a two-year period in formal research, where as principal investigator, he set up the multi-centre UK PROCESS Study to investigate the epidemiology of prostate cancer. This pioneering work attracted significant grants, including a large grant from the Department of Health, and led to the award of an MD from the University of Bristol in 2007. Following this research, Mr Patel accomplished six years of higher surgical training in urology in the Southwest region before going on to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2006.

With a wealth of expertise in urological conditions, Mr Patel has also held a number of senior positions throughout his prominent professional trajectory. He was previously the Clinical Lead for Urology at Gloucester Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, as well as a member of the medical advisory committee. Notably, Mr Patel was instrumental in the introduction of robotic urological surgery and urological laser surgery in Gloucestershire, and presently, continues to oversee the delivery of quality urological care for the region as the elected southwest regional representative at The British Association of Urological Surgeons. Mr Patel, who is on the GMC’s specialist register for urology, is also passionate about medical education and surgical training.

Mr Andraay Leung is a consultant orthopaedic spinal surgeon in Birmingham and Stourbridge specialising in spinal degenerative conditions, adult spinal deformity, spinal trauma, spinopelvic conditions and minimally invasive spinal surgery.  His practice is exclusively in spinal surgery, encompassing the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine.

Mr Leung obtained his medical degree from the University of Glasgow and pursued further training in trauma and orthopaedic surgery within the West of Scotland region. Following this, he completed complex orthopaedic-neurosurgical spinal fellowships at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.  He was appointed as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) in 2020.

Mr Leung is deeply invested in teaching and research. He is currently the post-CCT spinal fellowship lead for the QEHB.  He holds the post of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham, and previously at the University of Glasgow. He was an associate principal investigator in two multiple multi-centre, randomised controlled trials focusing on spinal trauma. Additionally, he was on the steering committee of a multi-centre observational study into cauda equina syndrome (UCES), with this work was featured in various peer-reviewed journals. Recognised for his expertise, he was invited to join the teaching faculty for the UK Advanced Spinal Trauma course organised by AO Spine.

Mr Leung continues to hold leadership roles within his speciality and beyond. He is currently the Deputy Lead for the West Midlands Regional Spinal Network.  He served as Councillor for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow from 2018 to 2021, representing surgeons outside Scotland. Additionally, he was selected to attend the Future Leaders Programme for Surgeons with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2022-23. Actively engaged in various professional organisations, he is a member of the British Association of Spine Surgeons (BASS), AO Spine (teaching faculty), Scoliosis Research Society (Candidate Member) and British Scoliosis Society. 

Mr Leung also has medicolegal expert certification with Strathclyde University / Inspire MediLaw.

Mr Vaughan Tanner has over 20 years experience as a senior consultant ophthalmic surgeon to The Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading and King Edward VII Hospital, Windsor. During that time, he led the Berkshire-wide vitreo-retinal surgical service, established a sub-specialist age-related macular degeneration service, provided a micro-incision cataract service and headed a general ophthalmic team providing care for acute and routine eye conditions. Mr Tanner has led the introduction of many new retinal treatments including Faricimab, Lucentis, Eylea anti-growth factor, intravitreal injections and Ozurdex steroid implants. These innovations have significantly improved vision for many patients suffering from age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion and other retinal problems.

In the private sector, he has developed a comprehensive service aiming to provide the highest level of personal care using the latest surgical techniques available. His main practice covers Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and London with many national and international referrals. Furthermore, Mr Tanner was a consultant clinical supervisor for The Oxford Deanery School of Ophthalmology responsible for post-graduate training and also led a fellowship training programme in advanced vitreo-retinal surgical techniques for surgeons becoming consultants in this sub-specialty. He has previously been appointed both lead clinician and clinical governance lead for the ophthalmology department, Royal Berkshire Hospital and has been awarded three NHS clinical excellence awards. He is currently appointed ophthalmology lead for the Medical Advisory Committee at Princess Margaret Hospital, Windsor.

Mr Edward Dawe is an expert orthopaedic surgeon in Chichester and Worthing practising exclusively in foot and ankle surgery.
