He took time to explain the diagnosis to me and ensured I was aware of all details of the surgery. I felt very comfortable and at ease before and after my surgery. He truly is excellent. I had to do an echocardiogram as part of a routine checkup considering my age (57) and intense sporting activity. I met Dr. Lo Monaco at Chelsea Westminster Hospital. The experience was totally satisfying. Dr. Lo Monaco first introduced himself by recounting his medical career with the many studies conducted abroad. We then talked at length about my health history, my family and anything that can somehow affect my current circumstances. This part has been very thorough also aided by recent blood tests that have highlighted some cholesterol problems. The echocardiogram was very accurate and although I do not have specific knowledge on the subject, the explanation of the result and the various measurements was absolutely clear and understandable. In addition to giving a clear impression of competence and impeccable professional conduct, Dr. Lo Monaco also has a natural empathy towards the patient which makes the medical examination less cold and impersonal. I had the worst experience with Mr Mathias Winkler. He subscribed a medicine which was not effective, I did so many unnecessary expensive tests; he didn't even call me to discuss tests results. I ended up visiting another doctor.

I am so sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your care. This is very unusual. I am a very thorough clinician and while you may think the tests were not necessary they may have been recommended to guide treatment and provide reassurance even if they were all negative. All my patients are offered a telephone follow up appointment but without more information I am unable to make follow up arrangements. I still hope your problems were sorted out be my colleague.

Mr Kavia is very professional and diligent in his diagnosis and line of treatment. I initially met him via NHS when I had my first episode of urine retention on October 2020. With my repeated episodes of urine retention over a course of next 10 months, I approached him in private hospital. He immediately checked my NHS records to review his notes for the treatment he had prescribed and suggested additional tests on priority to confirm the next course of action. Mr Kavia patiently explained me the line of treatment of sacral neuromodulation and I was immediately convinced seeing his confidence which entrusted my faith that I was in right hands. In Jan 2022, with the successful treatment/implantation of sacral neuromodulator, I was finally relieved from the constant fear of frequent episodes of urine retention and started living a normal life. I will without a doubt recommend Mr Kavia to everyone.

Mr. Kavia is an outstanding medical professional and I found his care very professional and compassionate too. He took the time to clearly explain the cause of the symptoms(LUTS) I was feeling, took me through the treatment options I could potentially follow while at all times patiently and thoroughly answering all the queries and questions I had. We finally decided on the UroLift option and Mr. Kavia’s great knowledge and expertise in this procedure has resulted in a very successful out come from the procedure leading me to be symptom free.
