A little strange at Woodland that my husband couldn't wait in my outpatient room with me - he was there to support me after all - but was allowed to collect me from the same room after the procedure. He had to wait in reception for four hours! Mr McMullan, though, is fantastic.

The doctor , nursing staff and general staff were first class. The Out patient dept was tricky to find ,mainly due to very poor signage. There were not enough seats in waiting area to accommodate accompanying person ( required to drive me home) The room could be more welcoming.

Dr Brady helped pick up the pieces following a disjointed first journey elsewhere. He met me exhausted, desperate and frankly done. He gave me his advice and although it wasn’t necessarily what i wanted to hear he explained why… I’m 8 days post op total hysterectomy and today got to see my incision, it’s awesome, so tidy and I honestly feel already relieved that I can hopefully start to get my quality of life back. I trust his opinion, I truly believe he cares what’s best and that if I had concerns he would be contactable and listen. The recovery has been great, generally less painful than I suffer usually! I can’t recommend him any higher… THANKYOU Dr Brady I can’t wait to start living my life again without pain and issue.

I was referred to Mr Von Widekind following many years of extreme pain and bleeding. From the first appointment Mr Von Widekind was extremely professional, explaining in detail the scan results which confirmed endometriosis, adenomyosis and a cyst on my left ovary. I was given recommendations and options on treatment to think about and at my next appointment we decided that a subtotal hysterectomy would be the best option for me. On the day of the operation Mr Von Widekind was fantastic, he put me ease and again explained exactly what would happen during the surgery and answered all my questions. I am now three weeks post surgery and feel amazing. I cannot praise Mr Von Widekind and his team enough. Following my GP’s concerns around my lower abdominal bloating and pain, I was seen by Mr Clemens von Widekind. To my complete surprise I had a 5 cm cyst on my right ovary which proved to be a right ovarian endometrioma and required a Laparoscopic right Oophorectomy and bilateral salpingectomy under general anaesthetic, as part of a day surgery. Within 4 weeks of diagnoses, I had the procedure in the morning and by the end of the afternoon I was up and about, and on my way home. I followed the medical advice and kept to light duties and plenty of rest, this enabled me to be back to my normal routine within 2 weeks. 3 weeks following the procedure I was discharged from Mr Clemens von Widekind and considered the procedure a success. From initial consultation through to final post procedure review, I felt reassured and supported in every aspect of my care by Mr Clemens von Widekind. His gentle professional manner and clear logical communication enabled me to understand what was happening within my body and appreciate the need for the procedure. At all times I felt complete ownership over decisions, any worries or concerns I had were very quickly addressed so as to not feel any anxiety or confusion. Mr Ahmet gave me my life back as I could barely walk before surgery. I had a L5S1 lumbar fusion. His work is precise and incisions are minimally invasive. He is an exceptional neurosurgeon, I would highly recommend him if you require spinal surgery.

The reason why I haven't given 5 stars if because I was disappointed that Mr Amit didn't come to see me after the operation to let me know it had gone okay. I also felt I should have stayed in for 2 nights as it was major back surgery and was in agony.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, I am not always based at one site so I am not always able to see my patients the day after. However, I fairly stay in touch with the team looking after the patients to ensure there is no problem. The vast majority of patients will be discharged by the team on day one after the operation. The pain after the operation persists for a few weeks so an additional stay in the hospital doesn’t help; on the contrary, it exposes you to the risk of other complications from a prolonged stay in the hospital like infections and Deep vein thrombosis, etc. I am glad you benefitted from the operation in the end.
