Mr Christopher Young is a highly regarded cardiothoracic surgeon who specialises in artificial heart valve surgery, cardiac surgery, coronary artery surgery and heart bypass surgery.
He graduated from Sheffield University Medical School in 1980 and completed his cardiothoracic training at various esteemed hospitals in the UK, including St Bartholomew's Hospital, St Thomas Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children, and Queen Elizabeth in Birmingham.
Additionally, Mr Young conducted two years of research at the Rayne Institute, St Thomas', as a BHF Junior Research Fellow, earning an MD for his work on myocardial protection. His specialised surgical expertise encompasses all facets of aortic valve surgery, aortic root replacement, and transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). Moreover, he played a pioneering role in introducing TAVI at London Bridge Hospital.
