TMS treatment for OCD - second course
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a treatment option for obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) that Smart TMS London offers. It’s a procedure that doesn’t involve surgery or medication, but uses magnetic waves to target the parts of the brain that are responsible for obsessive and compulsive thoughts and behaviours, with the aim of breaking the cycle.
How does TMS work in the treatment of OCD?
Approximately 40% of individuals with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) do not experience positive outcomes from traditional treatments like psychotherapy and antidepressant medication.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) represents an innovative approach to treating OCD. This therapy does not require surgery or medication, but instead utilises magnetic waves to calm the specific regions of the brain responsible for obsessive and compulsive thoughts and behaviours.
