TMS treatment for depression - first course
Smart TMS provides Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for the treatment of depression, which uses magnetic pulses to stimulate the brain in the area that controls emotions and regulates mood. TMS is a non-invasive procedure that was approved for use by NICE in 2015.
How does Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) work for the treatment of depression?
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is used as a treatment for depression, and stimulates the specific regions of the brain that are responsible for regulating mood, motivation, and social skills, particularly the prefrontal cortex.
TMS uses magnetic pulses which reset brain patterns and pathways, and treat the root causes of depression.
TMS was approved by NICE in the UK in 2015 for the treatment of depression. TMS is widely used in the USA for the treatment of depression as it is approved by the FDA, and is also used throughout various European countries to also treat depression.
TMS can be used to treat various mental health conditions such as clinical depression, childhood depression (between the ages of 14-18), seasonal affective disorder, postnatal depression, and bipolar disorder.
