Dr Amy Vowler is a hair transplant surgeon and leading GP based in Central London. She is an expert in menopause-related hair loss, PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatments, blood tests, hair transplant surgery, FUE (follicular hair extraction) techniques, and polynucleotide injections.
Dr Vowler brings over a decade of experience to her clinical practice, having worked extensively in the NHS GP surgeries and hospitals. She is the founder of Hair GP where she consults privately combining her expertise in general practice and hair loss solutions, and also practises as a hair transplant surgeon. In her role as a GP, Dr Vowler serves at the Royal Hospital for Neurodisability, and previously worked at other two busy NHS practices, as well as running a Youth Clinic for young people in Battersea.
She undertook her GP training through the Kingston VTS Scheme, which included placements at The Priory, Churchill Medical Practice, and Kingston Hospital. Additionally, she holds esteemed fellowship to the Royal College of General Practitioners. Dr Vowler originally qualified with an MBBS at St George’s University of London, having obtained a BSc (Hons) from Sheffield University.
Her higher specialist training in hair restoration notably included mentorship from Professor Gambino, the former head of the Italian Hair Restoration Society. As a specialist, Dr Vowler believes in a holistic approach to hair health, addressing both the cosmetic and underlying medical aspects to uncover the root causes of hair loss.
