Dr Andrew Plumb is a distinguished consultant gastrointestinal radiologist based in London. His areas of expertise include imaging for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Crohn’s disease, colorectal cancer, cancer of unknown primary, pelvic floor disorders, and hernias. He is highly proficient in advanced ultrasound. Dr Plumb consults privately at Cleveland Clinic London.

With over 20 years’ experience, he also practises for University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since 2014. Additionally, he is involved with the Joint Advisory Group for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and serves on the post-test colorectal cancers committee of the World Endoscopy Organisation.

Dr Plumb originally qualified from the prestigious University of Oxford. He undertook his initial radiology training in Manchester and also holds a PhD from University College London, for which he was awarded the illustrious Frank Doyle medal. Furthermore, Dr Plumb is an esteemed member of the Royal College of Physicians and a fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists.

Dr Plumb is also an associate professor of medical imaging at University College London, a position he has held since 2014. Notably, he also served as the Roentgen Professor for the Royal College of Radiologists from 2019 to 2020. He has published over 100 indexed articles and leads active research programmes focused on gastrointestinal and early translational clinical imaging.
