Dr Claudia Maizen

Dr Claudia Maizen is a distinguished consultant paediatric orthopaedic and trauma surgeon based in London. Her areas of expertise include DDH (developmental dysplasia of the hip), paediatric and adolescent foot and ankle deformities, neuromuscular conditions, Graf hip ultrasound screening, and the use of Botox® treatment for cerebral palsy. Dr Maizen currently consults privately with the renowned OS Clinic, at UME Health and at Bupa Cromwell Hospital.

Dr Maizen earned her MD from Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz in 1999 and completed her specialist registrar training in paediatric orthopaedics with paediatric trauma at Children’s University Hospital. During this time, she had the opportunity to travel to the UK and collaborate with the distinguished Rob Hill at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), Mark Paterson at The Royal London Hospital, and Lloyd Williams with whom she undertook a prestigious adult foot and ankle fellowship.

Additionally, Dr Maizen completed the highly-sought-after AO Trauma Fellowship, which further honed her skills in managing complex trauma cases. She also holds the esteemed FRCS (Tr & Orth) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and is a board member, chair of the education committee, and part of the audit and research committee of the International Interdisciplinary Consensus Committee for DDH Evaluation. She holds an NHS consultant post at Royal London Hospital since 2010, where she also serves as the clinical lead of the paediatric neuromuscular service since 2012.

Dr Maizen is also an active member of the British Society for Children’s Orthopaedic Surgery DDH Steering Group, and the course organiser for Graf Hip Ultrasound Courses in London, where she imparts critical skills for diagnosing and managing hip conditions in infants.
