Dr Claudio Ruffmann is a leading consultant neurologist based in Hampshire. He is renowned for his expertise in Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders. He also specialises in the treatment of headache, epilepsy, dizziness and tremor.
Dr Ruffmann obtained his primary medical qualification at the University of Milano-Bicocca in Italy before undergoing specialist training in neurology. After relocating to the UK, he conducted research at Imperial College London on the neuropathology of dementia in Parkinson's disease. He additionally obtained a PhD in 2018 from the University of Oxford, where he studied potential biomarkers of Parkinson’s disease. He was also previously a clinical research fellow at Imperial College London, where he studied the neuropathology of Parkinson’s disease. Dr Ruffmann works within Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a consultant neurologist and is also an honorary consultant neurologist at University Hospital Southampton. He currently sees private patients at the Candover Clinic.
