Dr Jonathan Rees is one of the leading consultants in rheumatology and sports medicine in London. He is particularly known for his expertise in disorders of the tendons and treating all types of arthritis. He has a wide range of experience in the field of sports medicine and has been involved in professional rugby, football, and disability sports. In 2008, Dr Rees was the medical officer to the GB Paralympic team in Beijing and for the 2012 London Olympic Games, he worked as a sports medicine consultant. He is also specialised in using musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations often being able to give patients an accurate diagnosis on the first visit.
Dr Rees has more than twenty years of experience, originally qualifying from the University of London in 1996. In 2010, Dr Rees went on to gain his medical doctorate in which he studied tendinopathy at University College London. Here he was awarded the British Society of Sport and Exercise Medicine research prize for his thesis. Dr Rees is extremely experienced in his field and an expert at working in a multidisciplinary environment, regularly working with physiotherapists, coaches, and sports therapists, ensuring that at each stage the patient is being helped to achieve their maximum potential.
