Mr Konstantinos Evangelou

Mr Konstantinos Evangelou is a leading consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon in Colchester who specialises in hip replacement, knee replacement and ACL reconstruction, alongside knee arthroscopy, hip and knee. He privately practices at Oaks Hospital.

Mr Evangelou is highly qualified with an MD from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and following this, he completed his basic surgical and orthopaedic training in Greece in 2013. He then moved to the UK where he gained working experience in renowned hospitals including the Royal London Hospital.

He was then awarded a fellowship in Soft Tissue Knee Surgery from the Hellenic Arthroscopic Association (George Noulis) in 2015, moving to Germany to gain valuable experience alongside Professors R Siebold and F Thorey. His second fellowship in the same specialty took place at Chapel Allerton Hospital, part of Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. His third was in Hip and Knee Arthroplasty at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in 2021. 

He undertook research into the aseptic loosening following hip replacement at University of Patras for a year, mentored by Professor Stathopoulos. The preliminary results were then presented at the British Orthopaedic Association annual meeting in 2017. 

Mr Evangelou's research has also featured in peer reviewed journals and he is a member of the British Association for Surgery of the Knee (BASK).
