Dr Luigi Camporota is a highly distinguished consultant intensivist at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and a reader (associate professor) at King’s College London in the School of Basic & Medical Biosciences, within the Centre for Human & Applied Physiological Sciences (CHAPS).
Dr Camporota, who currently practises at Cleveland Clinic London Hospital, also serves as the chair of the Acute Respiratory Failure Section of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM), reflecting his leadership in the field. His main areas of expertise include sepsis, sepsis shock symptoms, emergency care, intensive care, anaesthesia, sciatica, and respiratory distress syndrome.
His research focuses on mechanical ventilation in Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), advanced imaging techniques, and extracorporeal support (ECMO) for severe respiratory and cardiac failure. Dr Camporota has been a co-investigator in numerous multinational collaborative research and clinical initiatives aimed at improving the diagnosis and management of critically ill, ventilated patients.
