Dr Patrick Allen is a highly experienced and distinguished consultant gastroenterologist who specialises in inflammatory bowel disease, bowel cancer, bowel cancer screening, irritable bowel syndrome, as well as performing colonoscopies and endoscopies. He currently practises at the private Kingsbridge Private Hospital as well as the Ulster Independent Clinic in Belfast. 

Dr Allen, whose main research interests are inflammatory bowel disease and bowel disease, successfully completed an MBBS in 2002 at the esteemed Queens University Belfast. Impressively, he is an accredited bowel cancer screener, and notably obtained a fellowship in inflammatory bowel diseases and endoscopy from St Vicent's University Hospital in 2010. 

He has published an impressively extensive amount of peer-reviewed medical articles, primarily focussing on bowel cancer and bowel cancer diagnosis and screening. He also possesses expertise in ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, as well as performing flexible sigmoidoscopies.
