Dr Rajat Chowdhury is a renowned consultant musculoskeletal radiologist based in London. He specialises in complex orthopaedic, spinal, major trauma, rheumatology, bone and soft tissue sarcoma imaging, as well as image-guided treatments.
Dr Chowdhury, who consults privately at Alliance Medical Marylebone, has a demonstrated commitment to excellence. He originally qualified from the University of Oxford, and completed core surgical training at St Mary’s Hospital before going on to accomplish higher specialist radiology training on the Wessex radiology programme.
Furthering his skill set, Dr Chowdhury also pursued training in the USA, at Harvard University and the Mayo Clinic, as well as two prestigious fellowships in musculoskeletal radiology at Chelsea and Westminster and at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. In 2014, Dr Chowdhury was presented with the distinguished lifetime fellowship to the British Institute of Radiology in recognition for his diagnostic imaging services.
Dr Chowdhury currently serves as a sarcoma expert on the tumour radiology board at the World Health Organisation and as an NHS consultant at Oxford University Hospitals. With a postgraduate certificate in medical education, he is also an honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Oxford and a prominent figure in clinical research. He holds membership to the Royal College of Surgeons and fellowship to the Royal College of Radiologists.
Previously, Dr Chowdhury chaired the young professionals and trainees committee at The British Institute of Radiology and was also the elected vice president of the trainee division at the British Society of Interventional Radiology.
