Dr (Deborah) Sanju Arianayagam is a leading consultant dermatologist based in Reading who specialises in eczema, photodynamic therapy and rosacea alongside vitiligo, acne and warts. She also provides expert treatment in hair loss. She privately practises at Derma Reading clinic and her NHS base is Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Arianayagam is highly respected as a practitioner, academic leader and clinical researcher. She possesses various qualifications including an MA in Medical Sciences and a BM BCh from the University of Oxford as well as an SCE Dermatology diploma and an MRCP from the Royal College of Physicians (London).
She undertook her final year elective of her undergraduate training in the John Hopkins Department of Dermatology in Baltimore, USA. Dr Arianayagam then went on to undertake an academic foundation programme in London, which encompassed working on a large epidemiological study at the Royal Free Hospital. This was presented and published internationally.
Following this, she did a year-long clinical fellowship in dermatology at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, and then completed her dermatology training in the Thames Valley Deanery.
Dr Arianayagam is also noted for her work at the European Journal of Dermatology as a UK representative for the Residents' board, and Trainee representative for Health Education Thames Valley at the British Association of Dermatology.
Currently she is a tutor on the postgraduate Dermatology course at the University of South Wales. Dr Arianayagam has also presented seminars at Green Templeton College at the University of Oxford, and been a postgraduate teacher at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Arianayagam has presented her research at national and international conferences, and it has also been featured in various peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. She is a member of the Royal College of Physicians (London).
