Mr Sashi Kommu is a highly proficient and experienced consultant urological robotic surgeon who is an expert when it comes to prostate cancer, robotic surgery, and minimally invasive surgery. His current results in robotic prostatectomy are on par with the best published figures.
Mr Kommu, who has both an MBBS and FRCS in urology to his name respectively, completed his basic surgical training in the North West of England, before going on to successfully complete his higher surgical training as a specialist registrar at the London Deanery. He then underwent an intense post CCT fellowship in laproscopic and robotic pelvic uro-oncology. His main areas of clinical research interest include minimally invasive management of prostate cancer, surgical robotics, endourology, as well as robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy.
He has, impressively, gained a vast amount of experience in prostate cancer, thanks, at large, to formal research that he conducted at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and The Institute of Cancer Research. Mr Kommu has, to-date, over 100 peer-reviewed publications in respected medical journals to his name, and has also published several books and several chapters in books. Mr Kommu has, incredibly, won over 25 acadmeic awards, including The Olympus Award, which was presented to him in 2006 at the 25th World Congress of Endourology in the US.
