Mr Tom Pollard is a leading UK consultant orthopaedic surgeon and hip and knee specialist based in Reading.
He performs a high volume of hip and knee surgeries: patients often seek his medical services for his extensive skill in hip and knee joint replacements (arthroplasty) as well as the complex revision of hip and knee replacements. He performs more than 250 hip and knee replacements annually and implements the latest techniques, including NAVIO robotic knee replacement. He is also a UK expert on hip arthroscopy and knee arthroscopy. Since becoming a consultant, Mr Pollard has performed over 1800 hip arthroscopy procedures and performs approximately 250 each year, making him one of the most experienced surgeons in the UK in arthroscopy

Mr Pollard's pioneering research has been recognised by the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy: he won two of the first three annual awards. This achievement has contributed to his international reputation as a specialist in the cause and treatment of young adult hip conditions. What's more, he is recognised to have written many of the most important publications in the field of young adult hip surgery.
Mr Pollard has always been an avid researcher. Throughout his studies and professional career, he has contributed to orthopaedic research and has over 40 peer-reviewed scientific research publications in orthopaedic journals. He also collaborates with the University of Oxford on research and clinical trials.
