Professor Tom McNicholas is one of London's most innovative urologists. He was the first person to use laser energy on the prostate and the first urological surgeon in Europe to use an endoscopic or telescopic laser device for the treatment of benign prostatic enlargement. He is an expert advisor for the NHS Health Technology Assessment Programme and has lectured on a range of field-related topics both nationally and internationally. He forms an integral part of a number of prominent professional bodies, including the Royal Society of Medicine, for which he plays the role of president for the urology section.
