Mr Yakubu Karagama is one of Manchester's leading voice doctors, laryngologist and ear nose and throat consultants. Patients can avail of his private care from the Alexandra Hospital, Cheadle. Mr Karagama specialises in general adult and children ear, nose and throat problems, but has a special interest in voice disorders. In addition to his private practice, he works with the NHS clinic at the Central Manchester University Hospital Department of Otolaryngology, Manchester Royal Infirmary and Tameside Hospital.

After qualifying as a medical doctor in 1992 in Nigeria, Mr Karagama completed specialist ear, nose and throat training and obtained an MSc in advanced voice research at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 2005. He is also in possession of a postgraduate certificate in medical education from Edge Hill University.

Mr Karagama is a very experienced ENT Surgeon with international recognition due to his role in lecturing and training young surgeons. He is an honorary senior lecturer at both the University of Manchester and Edge Hill University. He is also the secretary of the British Laryngological Association and an honorary fellow at the Royal Northern College of Music Manchester. Mr Karagama has presented research and won numerous prizes at national and international conferences, including the North of England Otolaryngological Society and the Royal Society of Medicine. He has 27 publications and continues to research new surgery techniques to help his patients.
