Mr Basavaiah Natesh is a distinguished consultant ear, nose and throat (ENT), head and neck surgeon with extensive expertise in thyroid surgery, adenoids and endoscopic sinus surgery alongside head and neck cancer, skin lesions and parathyroid gland surgery. He privately practises at The Harborne Hospital - part of HCA Healthcare and serves as a consultant ENT, head, and neck surgeon at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust, where he also leads the Upper Airway Disorder Multi-Disciplinary service.
Mr Natesh completed his MBBS in 1998 and pursued advanced training in ENT and Head and Neck Surgery. He further honed his skills in ENT surgery at several leading hospitals in the South East of England. His training included a focus on both adult and paediatric ENT conditions, encompassing ear and hearing issues, nasal and sinus problems, as well as voice and swallowing disorders.
Mr Natesh completed advanced head and neck cancer surgery training at the renowned Cambridge Addenbrooke's Hospital. He also completed an internationally recognised Fellowship in Advanced Head & Neck cancer surgery at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Trust in London. Since joining UHCW in 2017, he has developed a special interest in minimally invasive thyroid, parathyroid and salivary gland surgeries, performing over 100 surgeries annually.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Natesh is deeply involved in research, particularly in the fields of head and neck surgery and sleep apnoea management. His research has been presented at national and international conferences and published in high-impact journals, contributing valuable insights to the field.
Mr Natesh is also a respected educator, serving as a trainer for the West Midlands ENT/Head & Neck Surgery training programme. He is an invited faculty member at various national and international conferences and surgical training courses, where he shares his expertise with the next generation of surgeons.
