What can I say about Dr Khalid Malik that hasn't been said already? I had my second total knee replacement on the 16th September 2024, lucky for me it was carried out by Dr Malik, again he talked me through what would happen in the operation, asked whether I had any questions about the operation, fears and his opinion how he saw the outcome going. After having the first operation I had know worries about the outcome as this surgeon is outstanding in his field. Friends who have had the same operation their by different surgeons always told me that the second operation would be worse than the first! More painful, longer to recover etc... I can honestly say that has not been the case for me, my recovery was quicker, pain was almost not there, I was even able to bend my knee by 90 degrees the day after my operation! in fact I was able to use the crutches the evening of my operation without any difficulty, that was down to Dr Malik's skills and his excellent team. I cannot thank him enough, he is simply the Best.

I had my first total hip replacement at a relatively young age, at the Conquest under the care of Mr. Khalid Malik at the end of October 2023. He talked me through the procedure and answered any questions i had. I was admitted and settled in. I didn't have to wait long before going down for the operation. Once awake (after a spinal and sedation) i realised the arthritic pain had disappeared almost straight away and just left me with the healing discomfort. I was on my feet really quickly afterwards and by 6 weeks was walking unaided. It made such a difference to my daily life. So you can imagine how thrilled i was getting an appointment at 2 weeks notice for my other THR in June 2024 only 7 months after the first. This time it was at Sussex Premier Health. Again the care was fantastic from both Mr. Malik and the team. This time i felt so good afterwards that i was in work meetings via Teams from my hospital room. Within 2 weeks i was walking totally unaided and at 4 back at work and driving. Cheesy as it sounds, and this is what i told Mr. Malik today at my final appointment, this has been truly life changing. To do things and then suddenly stop and think 'wow i couldn't do this before' i have absolutely no pain and my range of movement is back to what it was before i was diagnosed. In the best possible way, i hope to not have to meet Mr. Malik again as he did the most outstanding job, however...... if i ever need new knees he will most definitely be the surgeon i would choose.

On the 9th April, 2024, I had a total knee replacement at the Nuffield Hospital in Woking, my Surgeon was Mr Khalid Malik. I cannot speak highly enough of Mr Malik. On the occasions pre surgery and post surgery when I saw Mr Malik he was very reassuring, leaving me in no doubt about procedures and what I should expect. He answered all my questions with patience and at no time did I feel that he was in a rush. As for my new knee - it is amazing, I had very little pain and at nine weeks I can move freely without the support of crutches, my leg is straight and at my last physio session I could bend it to a degree of 120% - my physiotherapist has been very impressed with the amount of movement in the joint. I can only say thank you Mr. Malik. Having anticipated a lengthy, painful few months I have had just the opposite and am now able to look forward to a pain free summer. Alison Davies

I have had a very positive experience at the hands of Mr Malik. From the first examination where he listened to me and explained the process, through the operation and the after care. He has been easy to talk to, to communicate with, and the proof of his professional abilities lies in how well I have recovered from the operation.

Treatment was superb. From start of the double operation to discharge from Hospital I was kept informed every step of the way by Mr Malik. The operation itself was very successful and I can thoroughly recommend him as a surgeon, for his skill and expertise and patient treatment.

Mr Malik undertook my hip surgery at very short notice, due to him and his very capable and helpful team. Which includes his excellent secretary who kindly set the ball rolling to hip operation that went very smoothly from the anaesthetist to the op and recovery. I would certainly recommend Mr Malik to anyone due to have surgery.

Felt completely at ease, happy and safe under Mr. MALEK'S care and this meant a lot as I am an anxious person. He made me feel that he knows what he is doing and I was in safe hands. I would 100%recommend him and would want him again for future orthopaedic surgery and advice. The Nuffield Woking hospital was lovely as were all the staff. Thank you everyone for all you did for me and all your hard work

Mr. Malik was very positive and efficient about arranging my knee replacement. He was punctual at meeting me on the day of surgery and checked in with me at the end of the day.

I felt very safe in the care of Mr Malik. He answered my questions, told me things I needed to know in a "no nonsense" way, was kind and straight-forward. Of course I realise that the surgeon is part of a team; in a sense he is both the conductor and the leader of the orchestra. What more can I say? I wish that everyone had access to timely, first-class treatment and care, as I did.

After having seen Mr Malik for a consultation I came away thinking at last after years of pain and difficulty in walking something was being done. He was an extremely pleasant person who I felt I could talk to and he was listening. I have absolute trust in him to do the right thing for my problem.

From my initial consultation with Mr Malik, I was impressed with his clarification of my options and his probing me for any further questions I had. Once the knee operation was scheduled he was extremely diligent in keeping me abreast of “next steps”. I was, from the start, instilled with confidence in my decision to progress my operation under his care. Throughout my stay in hospital for the operation he stopped by several times to check on my progress and always wanted to know if there was any further questions I had. Even after being discharged, having visited me earlier that day, he showed a keen interest in how things were progressing at home and even callled me at home early one evening (unscheduled, 3 weeks after my procedure) just out of interest to see how I was feeling. He was by far the most caring and conscientious surgeon I have ever had to deal with. I am most happy to recommend him to any persons needing to undergo a similar procedure. I had total left knee replacement performed by Mr Khalid Malik and was rather concerned about the procedure prior to my operation and what the outcome would be. He gave me complete confidence in his abilities and actually put my mind a rest, so I went into the operation with far less nervous, with positive thoughts, he was right and my knee is brilliant, I would certainly recommend him and I am now on the list to have my right knee replaced by him.

The procedure was explained in great easy to understand detail , not only the benefits but also any possible downsides, which I found very reassuring, I was told exactly how the operation would be carried out and what to expect in regards to pain , pain management and recovery times , I was visited soon after the surgery had been completed, any questions I had were answered fully and clearly , the excellent ward staff helped me with pain relief and made me as comfortable as possible under the circumstances , I can’t thank everyone involved enough for the very professional treatment I received during my stay at the conquest hospital .

from the very first meeting with Mr Malik I was met with his professional and reassuring manner. Bearing in mind that I am nearly seventy years old very nervous as I have never been in hospital before Mr Malik answered all of my questions and put my mind at ease. Mr Malik was incredibly kind and approachable. He explained what was needed ..a total knee replacement and told me my age was not a barrier. He explained it clearly and answered all my questions. He was in fact charming He put me at ease before the operation and after. I was seen in outpatients this week and he showed me what was done and went through everything ..answered my pain questions honestly .very impressed

I am very happy with the care and attention afforded by Mr Malik who is an extremely knowledgeable Consultant Surgeon. He clearly explains, in layman terms, the processes involved for what is, in my case, a surgically difficult total knee replacement procedure. This enables me to have a much greater insight and understanding of my medical condition thus enabling me to make key decisions.

I saw Dr Khalid on Thursday 2nd Nov, my appointment was 09:30 but having arrived early Dr Khalid saw me at 9am. He promptly examined me sent me for a scan immediately and within 20mins i was finished and left the hospital. Dr Khalid pushed through my scan without the need of me having to come back for another appointment, he did this based on my work commitments as he realised time off for me was difficult. What a lovely personable man, i cant speak highly enough about Dr Khalid and his amazing team.

I was seen by Dr Khalid Malik whilst admitted at Conquest Hospital with an infection in my knee. Mr Malik was one of several doctors monitoring me during my stay and was quick to recognise when surgical intervention was required. Mr Malik operated on my knee the same day despite already having a full day or surgeries planned. Post operation Mr Malik has seen me several times to monitor my recovery. The operation was a success and I am extremely grateful for care given by Mr Malik and his team. Thank you Mr Malik.

My initial contact with Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Mr Khalid Malik was at the DGH Eastbourne on 3rd August 2023, after being referred by my GP for a possible total right hip replacement operation. At the time, I was in immense pain and limping due to the wear and tear on my right hip. Mr Malik was very professional in his approach and I felt very confident of his obvious surgical skills and abilities as we discussed the details of me having a total right hip replacement operation. I was very pleasantly shocked when I enquired what the lead-in time would be for the operation, half expecting to have to wait for a year or so. Mr Malik informed me that he could do the operation within two to four weeks as he had only just taken up a post at the hospital and he hadn't yet got a full diary! He was as good as his word and I had the operation on Monday 4th September 2023 at the Conquest Hospital in Hastings. The level of care I received at the Conquest hospital was simply amazing, well beyond any words. Although I had some discomfort after the operation, the amazing staff and nurses had me up and walking around the day after the operation. I was discharged on Wednesday 6th September. I have since made a good recovery, and 8 weeks on from the operation am getting around without any walking aids and I'm slowly building back my physical stamia levels. I recently had a follow up review at the Conquest hospital where I got to meet Mr Malik again and to personally shake his hand, thanking him for the wonderful job he did on replacing my rather battered right hip. Mr Malik, I simply cannot thank you enough for the professionalism and care I received from not only yourself, but from all staff at the Conquest and DGH hospitals during and after my recent operation.
