
Dr Mohamed Al-Obaidi

Dr Mohamed Al-Obaidi is a renowned consultant cardiologist based in London. He specialises in a number of invasive and interventional cardiac procedures including coronary angioplasty and is also specialist in complex cardiac device implantation including cardiac defibrillators and biventricular pace makers. Additonally, he is expert in the treatment of cardiac diseases such as coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease and heart failure.
After completing his initial medical degree with a high distinction award in Iraq in 1989, Dr Al-Obaidi relocated to the UK to undertake further training. He trained at a number of London hospitals including London Charing Cross Hospital before being awarded a doctorate degree from the University of London in 2000. Dr Al-Obaidi completed his specialist training in cardiology in 2006. He has a wealth of experience in interventional cardiology and cardiac device implantation surgery, particularly percutaneous coronary interventions, including IVUS, OCT and pressure-wire catheter assessments, permanent pacemaker implantations and transoesophageal and transthoracic echocardiography, having completed thousands of these procedures.
Dr Al-Obaidi is a fellow of both the Royal College of Physicians and the European Society of Cardiology. He is also a member of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society (BCIS) and the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI). He has written numerous peer reviewed papers in cardiology and was also a senior research fellow at the National Heart and Lung Institute at the Royal Brompton Hospital for several years.
