Melita Irving

She has established multidisciplinary paediatric clinics in skeletal dysplasia offering a close monitoring and management service, and is an active researcher, working to develop and improve the diagnosis of severe skeletal conditions. She currently acts as the chief investigator for clinical trials in children with skeletal dysplasia, developing the diagnosis of genetic conditions and improving the accurate diagnosis of severe skeletal conditions. Her work is featured in many peer-reviewed publications and she has published extensively on various aspects of clinical genetics. Dr Irving was a winner of the Genetic Healthcare Provider (GHP) Private Healthcare Awards 2019.

Chris Nutting

After graduating from the University of London Professor Nutting went on to take a number of important posts and has become a highly experienced and an extremely well-respected oncologist in London. Besides his medical experience, Professor Nutting has impressive teaching credentials, having been appointed Professor in clinical oncology at The Institute of Cancer Research.

Deena Harji

Professor Deena Harji is an award winning consultant robotic colorectal surgeon based in Manchester. She is an expert in robotic surgery, colorectal surgery, rectal surgery and robotic hernia surgery. Additionally, she concentrates on robotic colorectal surgery, diverticular disease and anal fistula surgery. Professor Harji initiated her medical studies at University of Birmingham, graduating with an MBBS in 2007, before undergoing further training. In 2014 she achieved a Doctor of Philosophy – pHD Medicine from University of Leeds, with a research thesis entitled 'The Development and Validation of a Patient-Reported Outcome Measure of Health-Related Quality of Life in Locally Recurrent Rectal Cancer.’ She is dedicated to research and improving services regarding colorectal surgery. She is particularly interested in robotic colorectal surgery. She worked as an associate surgical speciality lead for a coloproctology RCS trials Initiative, where she pursued research related to improving outcomes for colorectal tumours. Mark Vanderpump

Dr Mark Vanderpump is a highly experienced endocrinologist with a career spanning over 30 years. His main area of expertise is thyroid disease, but his clinic practice includes all aspects of diabetes and endocrinology. He also sees referrals of less frequently occurring conditions such as thyroid cancer; pituitary conditions such as acromegaly; and adrenal disorders including Addison's disease, plus calcium and bone disorders. Dr Malik gained her medical degree with honours and a gold medal in obstetrics and gynaecology in 1991. She successfully completed her subspecialty accreditation in reproductive medicine and surgery at UCLH (London) where she remains an honorary consultant.

Katherine George

Miss Katherine George is an esteemed consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon based in London. Having qualified with distinction in her medical degree, Miss George has won multiple academic and clinical awards and prizes throughout her career. Following her higher surgical training she completed a fellowship in Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery with a focus on facelift and facial rejuvenation. Miss George also has advanced training in salivary gland disease management, and was the first person in the world to use intracorporeal lithotripsy to break salivary gland stones to avoid invasive surgery. This is an advanced technique that is still not widely available. Miss George is one of the few surgeons in the UK that is able to offer minimally invasive salivary gland surgery, and is part of a specialist salivary gland team. She is the surgical lead for salivary gland surgery for the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons. Alongside her clinical practice, Miss George is also an advanced trauma life support instructor, and has written numerous peer-reviewed articles for medical journals.

David Houlihan-Burne

Mr David Houlihan-Burne is a highly-skilled orthopaedic surgeon based in London. Practising from a number of top medical establishments in the capital including the Fortius Clinic, he specialises in knee surgery, sports injuries and arthritis. Mr Matthew Solan is a vastly experienced trauma and orthopaedics surgeon based in the London area. He specialises in foot and ankle problems and sports injuries. Alessandro Giardini

Dr Alessandro Giardini is a top cardiologist based at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in London, specialising in paediatric cardiology. Kefah Mokbel

Following the completion of his undergraduate medical education at the London Hospital Medical College in 1990, Professor Mokbel pursued surgical training at the Royal Marsden, Charing Cross, Chelsea and Westminster, Saint Mary’s and St Bartholomew’s hospitals and completed his higher surgical training as an oncoplastic breast surgeon in 2000. Professer Mokbel has won various prestigious prizes, awards and honours during his educatiom, training and postgraduate career. He qualified as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1994 and was then granted the Master of Surgery degree in 2000 by The Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine for his research in the field of molecular biology of breast cancer. Professor Mokbel's research interest lies in the field of molecular biology and the clinical management of breast cancer and aesthetic breast surgery. This includes breast reconstruction following mastectomy and augmentation mammoplasty using implants and fat transfer. In addition, he has authored or coauthored more than 400 scientific papers, editorials, commentaries and textbook chapters (Google Scholar H-index = 51 and I10-index = 170) and has authored 14 textbooks aimed at medical students and postgraduate doctors. His current academic interest is focused on how to apply the advances from clinical trials to daily surgical practice. He is also currently a member of the editorial board of various global medical journals and has peer-reviewed for renowned journals such as The Lancet.

Andrew Baildam

Professor Baildam trained in surgical oncology and then additionally plastic and reconstructive breast surgery, and was appointed as a consultant surgeon and an honorary senior lecturer in surgical oncology at The Christie Hospital, Manchester. He was then appointed to St Bartholomew’s Hospital as the Professor of Breast and Oncoplastic Surgery, Queen Mary University of London. After 36 years in the NHS he now works in the independent sector.
