What is the procedure for a septorhinoplasty?
The first stage of a septorhinoplasty is called a septoplasty where the deviated septum is corrected to allow for better nasal breathing. The second step of this procedure is the rhinoplasty. During the rhinoplasty the shape of the nose is changed according to what the patient has requested.
How long is the recovery?
Following
septorhinoplasty surgery, a dressing has to be worn for around four days, during which time it is common for patients to experience excessive tearing from the eyes, but surprisingly little pain. It is normal for a bruise to appear within a few days following surgery, however, this quickly fades. Patients will usually need to take 1-2 weeksoff work, and healing is complete usually within a year, as swelling goes away completely over time. However, usually within one month the nose does not appear to look swollen.
