Dr Ravi Kamdar is a highly acclaimed consultant cardiologist practising in various London hospitals. He specialises in arrhythmia, heart failure, hypertension, palpitations, syncope and cardiac devices such as ILRs, pacemakers, defibrillators and cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT) devices.
Dr Kamdar graduated from St Bartholomew's and The Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1996 and first became a consultant cardiologist in 2009. During the year 2012, he was appointed the role Consultant Cardiologist in Devices, Arrhythmia and Heart Failure at Croydon University Hospital and King's College Hospital where he established a new complex cardiac pacemaker and defibrillator implantation and follow-up service and was subsequently accredited and approved by NHS England. In addition, Dr Kamdar has won a Clinical Excellence Award for his work and commitment to improving the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias and heart failure at Croydon University Hospital.
Dr Kamdar has gained a vast amount of experience over his professional career and has been one of the highest volume implanters of complex cardiac pacemaker and defibrillator devices at Croydon University and King's College Hospital for over five years. He routinely performs novel cardiac device procedures such as subcutaneous-ICDs and His bundle pacing (HBP), which he also introduced to Croydon Hospital. Whilst training cardiology trainees in techniques for complex cardiac device implantation, he is also a member of the British Society for Heart Failure, the British Heart Rhythm Society and a certified cardiac device specialist from The International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners.
