Mr Sid Nagala is a revered consultant ENT Surgeon with over 20 years of experience based at The ENT Consultancy at The Forbury Clinic, Reading. He is highly skilled in the treatment of numerous ear, nose and throat ailments, specialising in thyroid/ parathyroid surgery, neck lumps, blocked nose, voice disorders endoscopic sinus surgery, and paediatric ENT. He offers specialised care to both adults and children.
Mr Nagala began his medical journey at St George’s Hospital Medical School University of London and graduated with a MBBS in 2003. Upon completion of his primary medical degree, he undertook basic surgical training in various Newcastle hospitals, and higher specialist ENT training in Yorkshire.
He takes a keen interest in head and neck surgery, with a focus on cancer care. During his specialisation in head and neck surgery, he pursued an observership at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York and national TIG Fellowship. In his final year of training, he was the President of the National ENT trainee association (AOT).
Mr Nagala focuses greatly on research in cancer and was awarded a PhD from the prestigious University of Cambridge, which concentrated on imaging biomarkers in thyroid tumours. During this period he was awarded research grants from Cancer Research UK and the British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists. His work has been published in several peer reviewed journals.
He also is dedicated to educating the next generation of ENT specialists. He successfully completed a postgraduate certificate in healthcare education from St George’s Medical School. During this year he taught surgery to medical students in London. More recently, he was appointed onto the BAETS (British Association of Endocrine/ Thyroid Surgeons) Executive committee as the Educational Lead. Finally, he was one of the surgeons involved in performing the first UK transoral (scarless) thyroidectomy (TOETVA) and parathyroidectomies (TOEPVA).
