Mr Simon Pearce is a highly skilled consultant orthopaedic surgeon based in Hastings and Crowborough who is renowned for his expertise in hip and knee procedures, including hip replacement, knee replacement, knee arthroscopy, ACL reconstruction, high tibial osteotomy, and meniscus surgery. With over 20 years’ experience, Mr Pearce consults privately at Sussex Premier Health Hastings and at The Horder Centre. His NHS base is East Sussex.
Mr Pearce originally qualified from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School in 2002. He completed his trauma and orthopaedics surgical training at some of London’s most prestigious teaching hospitals, namely King’s College, St Mary’s Hospital and St George’s Hospital, as well as six years of higher specialty training on the South East Thames orthopaedic rotation. In 2011, Mr Pearce became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England for both trauma and orthopaedics.
As a leading specialist in hip and knee surgery, Mr Pearce was also awarded an international fellowship in Australia, specialising in hip and knee arthroplasty and reconstructive surgery. He later accomplished an additional knee surgery fellowship at Guy’s Hospital in London, where Mr Pearce notably developed proficiency in implant technology, real-time computer navigation insertion techniques, and personalised patient-matched instruments for surgery.
Mr Pearce has continued to expand his interest in clinical research and surgical innovation, and at present, has several patents in medical technology under his name in addition to an MSc from the University of Brighton. He is also committed to medical education, and has taught on both consultant courses and training rotation programmes as a faculty member and a GMC-recognised trainer.
