Mr Muhammad Umar is a dedicated consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon specialising in arthritides of the hip and knee, knee arthroscopy and cartilage surgery, paediatric orthopaedics, and trauma injuries. He practices at the Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle and the Spire Regency Hospital in Macclesfield.
 
Mr Umar qualified in 1999 from the University of the Punjab in Lahore, Pakistan with Bachelor's degrees in Science, Surgery, and Medicine. He then went on to complete a membership course with the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 2006, and a certificate in Sports and Exercise with them later in 2008. His training as a trauma and orthopaedic surgeon has spanned many years and insitutions including Luton and Dunstable Hospital, Macclesfield District General Hospital, and Liverpool University Hospitals, highlighting his comittment to improving his capabailities. He has undertaken several fellowships, such as one in sports injuries and arthroplasty at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry, another with the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in paediatrics and young adult orthopaedics, and two as a BOA National Clinical Fellow with Wrightington hospital in both lower limb arthroplasty and foot & ankle surgery.
 
Mr Umar has an additional interest in joint preservation treatments and in treating metastatic skeletal presentations in collaboration with regional centres. He strives to deliver comprehensive, empathetic, and coordinated care for his patients and their families. Outside of his clinical practice, he is involved with medical education and professional development for the next generation of doctors, serving as a supervisor and mentor for medical students by sharing his experience and passion for orthopaedics. He is an appraiser for the East Cheshire NHS Trust, as which he is entrusted to evaluate the performance of fellow healthcare workers, exemplifying his actively upholding high standards of medical practice.

His expertise in trauma and orthopaedics means that he can provide thorough evaluations and reports for legal proceedings, ensuring accurate and fair assessments.
