Dr Stuart Harris is a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist practising at the Cleveland Clinic London Hospital. Dr Harris specialises in arrhythmia and their treatment through methods such as catheter ablation, the implantation of therapeutic devices, and a wide range of cardiovascular diseases.
Dr Harris graduated from St Bartholomew’s Medical College in 1995 with a degree in medicine, upon which he underwent postgraduate training in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology in both London and Edinburgh. In April 2005, he was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, and in 2007 he joined the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre, where he developed the arrhythmia service. In 2013, he was appointed Clinical Director for the Mid and South Essex Foundation Trust, and was promoted to Medical Director in 2020 at the Southend Hospital.
In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Harris is actively engaged with medical education and research. He has been a senior lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University since 2013 and is the Clinical Placement Lead in its School of Medicine. He is currently conducting research on atrial fibrillation and the use of implantable devices for heart failure and heart function. He has been a council member and the treasurer of the British Heart Rhythm Society.
