I saw Dr Salah Omer at Parkside Wimbledon and found him to be extremely friendly, empathetic and a good listener. After the initial consultation which included some neurological tests, he referred me for MRI scans, and these seem to show that his initial diagnosis was correct. His follow-up with my results was whilst he was away travelling, and I appreciated that he made sure that I did not have further waiting and can proceed to the next stage of action.

I consider Dr Omer to be a fine physician. This is on the basis of only one consultation with him - the last before he left on three weeks leave! Nevertheless I believe my assessment is correct based on the following: I presented with what has turned out to be unusual neurological symptoms. Dr Omer was scrupulous in not rushing to a diagnosis. Instead he organized a number of tests and arranged for another neurologist to see me in his absence. That same evening he wrote a letter to my GP (I was copied) which helped to clarify the problem and where a solution might be found. During the following days he monitored the results of the investigations as they came in. At two points he realized important things had come to light. He phoned me straight away (while he was still on holiday) urging me to take urgent action with the GP and with the hospital. Later tests pointed strongly to a likely cause and treatment plan. He made himself available on the telephone (again while on leave) during my first consultation with the new neurologist to update and guide him. With the new data to hand, he cogently expressed his view on the diagnosis and how my treatment should progress. This intervention was timely and invaluable. My treatment is still in its early days (so the jury is - to some extent - still out!). But there are hopeful signs of improvement. I feel I am in good hands and making progress. I have been fortunate with my doctors in the past but I find this level of care, combined with excellent medical knowledge (at least, so far as I can tell as a laymen) to be exceptional. My grateful thanks to Dr Omer.

Dr. Omer was so helpful from start to finish. First, he was able to fit me in for a same-day appointment. He was an expert in the condition I was seeking treatment for, and provided information to help me better understand the genetic underpinnings. He provided warm and empathic care, and went out of his way to connect me with a colleague who could provide the testing (same day) and follow up care needed. I would highly recommend him to others.

I was referred to Dr Salah Omer for him to read a brain scan I had after a suspected stroke. Obviously when I looked him up I was nervous and a little put off by the couple of bad reviews. I was pleasantly surprised as he was very welcoming, he had my scan in his hands and said he was very pleased to tell me that I had not had a stroke. However he had watched me walking and noticed how I had rushed to sit in the nearest chair. He asked me to stand and he listened with his stethascope to my legs. He then asked a lot of questions about my everyday life, how was shopping? queuing at the checkout? standing talking to people? going to parties? Airports?? I could go on but I was amazed as for the last few years I have not been able to do any of these things as I basically cannot stand still. He asked me when I first noticed something was wrong, and I told him I first went to see a doctor when I found I had trouble standing talking to people at parties, his answer was don't drink so much! I was then in my late 20's. I have since seen many different consultants over the years for balance, neurology clinics, inner ear consultants etc., with no luck. I have been able to live with it but gradually over the last few years it has been very difficult, and have had to use wheelchairs especially at airports. So, after all these years I have a diagnosis "Primary Orthostatic tremor" a very rare condition which is progressive, there is no cure but it can be controlled with medication. I am so very, very grateful that I did go to see Dr Omer. Apart from being a kind, gentle man with a sense of humour, he is a Brilliant Neurologist, and I really can't thank him enough.

I saw Doctor Omer concerning headaches some time back, and had recently recommended both him and Parkside due to my positive experience. I was shocked to see others leave negative experiences, but of course can only speak from my own. Typically people will only review when disappointed with a service, and so I wish to do the opposite. Doctor Omer was extremely friendly, warm and kind during my consultation, and was able to help me reach the diagnosis of my tumour which otherwise was being missed by other doctors I had previously seen. I can honestly say as somebody who typically gets anxiety when visiting doctors/medical clinics, that my visit to Doctor Omer is one I look on fondly and am grateful for.
