Miss Deborah Foong is an esteemed consultant plastic and reconstructive surgeon, highly regarded for her work in complex reconstructions following cancer treatment and trauma. She practices at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust, where she specialises in soft tissue reconstruction. Her private practise is at The Harborne Hospital.

Within her NHS role, Miss Foong serves as the lead reconstructive surgeon at the Birmingham Sarcoma Unit, handling intricate cases of soft tissue reconstruction post-cancer treatment. She also plays a vital role in the management of complex trauma cases at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Miss Foong's expertise extends to amputee surgery, where she is an integral part of two specialist multidisciplinary amputee clinics. Her focus includes advanced surgical techniques such as refashioning of amputation stumps and nerve surgeries like targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR) and regenerative peripheral nerve interface (RPNI) surgery.

In addition, she leads a team that provides osseointegration surgery for British veterans at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. Her medical journey began with her undergraduate studies at the University of Nottingham, where she graduated in 2003. Since 2020, she has contributed to the field by being a member of the Joint Committee of Intercollegiate Examinations FRCS (Plast) MCQ Writing Group. Her extensive experience, combined with her dedication to advancing patient care, makes her a highly respected figure in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery.
