I highly recommend Dr Abdel-Aziz for any neck surgery. Following my second case of metastasised thyroid cancer to my lymph nodes, I scheduled an appointment with Dr Abdel-Aziz to discuss a complex surgery. The goal was to remove the cancerous nodes while avoiding the nerves in my neck that control my voice. Other surgeons had warned me that due to the proximity of the cancerous nodes to these nerves, there was a high risk of not only voice loss but also difficulty swallowing and breathing. Additionally, my age (71) and the fact that this would be my third neck surgery, dealing with substantial scar tissue, added to the operation's complexity. Dr Abdel-Aziz's friendly, caring, and modest demeanour was commendable, especially given his exceptional education and reputation. He consistently took the time to answer all of my and my children’s questions, never making us feel rushed. His explanations of the risks involved were clear and reassuring. From the beginning, he meticulously reviewed all my medical documents and referred us to an ultrasound specialist for detailed imaging and a stimulated full-body PET scan to check for distant metastasis. On the day of the operation, Dr Abdel-Aziz met us with his reassuring smile, informing us that he had cleared his entire afternoon for the surgery to ensure he could take as much time as needed. The operation lasted approximately six hours, during which he utilised a nerve monitoring device and an advanced camera capable of differentiating between scar tissue and lymph nodes. Before I left the operating room, he checked my breathing, swallowing, and voice to ensure there were no issues although I have no recollection of it. After the surgery, he immediately informed my children that it was a complete success, with no complications whatsoever which almost feels miraculous. Post-operation, I experienced minimal pain and had no problems moving my neck and head. Dr Abdel-Aziz visited me several times before he was satisfied that I could be discharged. I am incredibly grateful to have been under his care. If I ever need another surgery in the future, I would not hesitate to seek Dr Abdel-Aziz's expertise again. I highly recommend him to anyone in need of a competent and caring doctor for themselves or their loved ones.
