What to know about endometriosis
Endometriosis is a gynaecological condition where the endometrium tissue, which grows as a layer lining the uterus, grows in other places outside of the uterus, such as the bowels and the bladder. This can cause pain, and abnormal periods, and negatively impact fertility.

The effects of PCOS on fertility
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a chronic hormonal disorder that is caused by the ovaries having an imbalance in hormone production. It is not an incredibly rare condition, as it is estimated that 13% of people of reproductive age have it, with a further estimated 70% of them remaining undiagnosed. It cannot be permanently cured, and those who have PCOS may face difficulties with their fertility, but it can be managed and pregnancy is still possible.
Endometriosis is a disorder of the uterus where the tissue that normally lines the uterus (the endometrium) grows outside and around the uterus, and can spread to other organs in the pelvis like the ovaries, the bladder, and the intestines – and in rare cases, even as far as the lungs.

Beyond ultrasound: how 3D imaging enhances pregnancy monitoring
You may be most familiar with an ultrasound as a grainy greyscale wedge, where the 2D suggestion of a baby’s form lounges in a black abyss. While exciting to see, the image leaves much to the imagination. But new innovations in ultrasound technology means that pregnancy sonograms have become more graphic, comprehensive, and in colour! Instead of seeing the baby from the side cross-section, 3D ultrasounds enable expectant parents to see their baby’s face before they’re ever born, making them all the more excited to meet their baby.
