In one of our latest medical articles here below, distinguished locum GP with a special interest in aesthetics and functional medicine, Dr Grace Hula, sheds some expert light on the Brazilian butt thread lift procedure, including the main benefits of undergoing the surgery, the ideal candidates, and how exactly a Brazilian butt thread lift is performed.

What is a Brazilian butt thread lift?

A Brazilian butt thread lift is a cosmetic procedure that has gained popularity in recent years. The procedure involves inserting tiny, dissolvable threads into the skin to lift it and the underlying tissue.

The lifting effect gradually fades as the threads are broken down by the body. The procedure is similar to a thread facelift, but instead of using threads to lift the fact, they are used to lift and contour the buttocks

The threads used in a Brazilian butt thread lift come in two types: larger, lifting threads that are anchored into the skin and used to lift and reposition the skin, and smaller threads that stimulate collagen production, resulting in smoother skin and improved laxity.

What is the main benefit of undergoing a Brazilian butt thread lift?

A Brazilian butt thread lift can lift the buttocks, improve their contour, and even diminish the look of cellulite (to a certain extent). It is a tweak or an adjunct therapy that does not replace having good muscle tone nor the side effects that you can suffer from fat grafting or the Brazilian butt lift

Who is the ideal candidate for a Brazilian butt thread lift?

The ideal candidate for a Brazilian butt thread lift is someone who is in good physical shape and not overweight. While the threads come in various tensile strengths, they can only do so much.

They can lift the skin, but they're not going to be able to pull up an extra 20 pounds of fat. On the opposite end of the spectrum, someone who’s underweight with a flat butt that lacks volume isn’t going to be a great candidate either.

How is a Brazilian butt thread lift performed?

The procedure is performed using just a local anaesthetic, and special suture threads are carefully placed deep under the skin into the fat tissue, and consequently, the buttocks are lifted permanently into a higher position. The procedure is minimally invasive and requires little downtime compared to other surgical procedures.
